Message from Principal Fippin
Hello BCE Community
Thank you to everyone for your flexibility this week with our water. The students and staff have all been so helpful. I have been impressed repeatedly with how well everyone adapts during our moments of need. We will continue to have the port-a-potties, hand washing stations, and extra drinking water as long as needed. We will be on boil water notice until we hear from the water district, so please make sure you send an extra water bottle to your students next week.
5th graders had a wonderful trip up at science camp this past week. Look at the slide show, which was all the fun. Thank you to all the teachers for supporting them all week and Mrs. Thomsen for completing the slide show.
Open House is coming soon. Please see below for details on the music performance, dinner option, and when classrooms will be open. Please note that we ask all students who would like to perform with Mr. G to arrive at 5 so no one misses anything.
Thank you for all the feedback on the survey. One thing that was mentioned was the monthly awards we do for character traits and families wanting to attend. So we will start this month. If your student receives an award, you will get a message from your classroom teacher. Thank you for your feedback, and I am so glad we can make this change.

BCE Talent Show- Sign up now
BCE’s annual Talent Show is coming up! We invite students in K-5 to audition to be in the show. Please sign up your student to audition using this link. You can contact Mr. Keasey (akeasy@slvusd.org) or Mrs. Jaime (kjaime@slvusd.org) if you have any questions.
Attendance
As you know, attendance is extremely important. That said, we understand children get sick and may miss some school. We notice some students are missing an excessive amount of school due to illness.
If your student is out for more than three days we do require a doctor's note. You can scan & send the document to our health aide, Kat, at kgafford@slvusd.org. You can send a screenshot to (831) 252-1491 or you can bring the document to us in person.
This is extremely important so please save the paperwork from any of your appointments and submit that documentation in a timely fashion. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
Should you have any questions please contact Kat at 338-6413 extension 149."
