If you are missing a child hold up your red card. If all is good hold up your green card. I will put a map in your mailboxes with line up areas since we have our preschool students to line up too.

Shout Outs- Cheers for Peers
https://forms.gle/nxSCrVWh63QWD5UJ9
We are all doing some really hard, good things, and my eyes can't be everywhere :)) so, when you see a peer doing something good, let's shout it out!! Share it here on this form and I'll be sure to include it in our weekly newsletter.
*There are shout out cards still in the faculty room too, you can fill it out and put it in the basket. I'll draw a few names a week from the basket for shout outs as well. Each person gets the cards delivered to them as well.
* Golden Pineapple award- We will be doing a Pineapple award this year to go along with our theme. I will hand out the first award at our first PD meeting this Wednesday. This award goes to someone who's behavior has demonstrated the qualities of the PINEAPPLE. Standing Tall, Tough on the outside showing strength, and sweet on the inside. Then, the person I recognize will recognize the next person they identified who demonstrates the qualities of the Pineapple and so on. We will do this 2 times a month, all staff are eligible to be recognized, and receive this award. The best part is this award is peer to peer, cheering on peers!!
Organized Recess updates
1. 1 cart will hold all the crates for the zones, one cart will hold the items available for the free zone. The items in this cart are to be used only in the free zone. Right now, teachers and Paraprofessionals put crates out, when we have leaders for this, they will do this each day for lunch recess. For your own grade level recess, your team decides what zones are open, and get the crates for them.
2. We are going to print Kelso Choices on cards to add to our recess key rings to help with behavior needs out at recess, to give the students guidance and options.
3. Students are lining up at lunch recess, 1 minute before lunch ends, then at least one teacher needs to be out there to do a transition activity with the grade level, then bring them in. As a team decide how this will look for your grade level. 1 person or all team members??
4. My husband will be helping to put in a new post for the soccer net to reopen the advanced soccer zone. We will spray paint line again this week. We may not be able to continue to paint lines, unless we come up with a better resource. Right now the cost is $8 a can to paint a line. This can add up quickly.
Please remind our students that if balls go on the roof, they stay there until Friday when our custodians go up there to recover them.
Big 8
This web site has great resources, as well as a great ppt to guide your teams through a discussion of the Big 8. (ps.... created by our very own Ellen and Annette!!)

Playworks- Transitions
https://www.playworks.org/resource/back-to-school-refresher-for-recess-monitors/
This link is a great tool for all of us, not just recess monitors. It also has chants, transition activities, and rules from the top 4 games.
Group Me and One stop Shopping list
We will also use the Group Me, to be in communication with each other when we have a school lock down, if a child is missing from a room, etc.
Here is our One stop shopping list- a link to all the different forms and info you'll need for the year.... As more forms are created there links will be added to this site....
