MMS Athletic Information
- Fall sports are underway! Our District Fall Sports Schedule can be found here.
- Athletic Eligibility - Mr. Bender runs failing grade reports every Friday of each athletic season. Student-athletes who are failing one or more class will be notified (1st time warning week, 2nd+ time ineligible to participate the following week).
- All athletes must have a sports physical on file with the Athletic Department dated no later than April 15th in order to participate in school-sponsored athletics the following school year. You can go through your primary care doctor or contact the Adolescent Wellness Center located across from the High School in Cadillac (231.306.4900). An updated physical is required before an athlete can practice.
Welcome, Mr. Harmon!
Our only NEW staff member in the MS this year is our art teacher, Mr. Harmon. He may or may not have been ambushed with this photo and told to wave without any notice. 🙃 We're happy to have this Ranger alumnus back in the building doing what he loves!
Stuff you should know
- Cadillac Area Backpack Program - Could your family benefit from a bag of non-perishable food sent home with your student every week? If so, forms are in the MS office to sign up for this program.
- This is the last week to collect donations for our annual You-a-thon! We are SO GRATEFUL for any donations that are given in order to provide all the "extras" that make our school a fun and memorable place to learn. Thank you!
- OK-2-Say Assembly on September 20th - Please be advised that important topics will be discussed on this date (5th will meet separately from 6-8th). Please see here for a copy of the letter all students received and/or contact the MS office for an opt-out form if you do NOT want your student to be present for this Michigan Student Safety Program. More information on the program can be found here.
- Communication between staff and parents will begin transitioning to a new platform called "Rooms" -- downloading the Manton app is the first step.
- Lost and Found - Please know we have a lost-and-found table outside the MS office. We recommend labeling any sweatshirts or coats so they can be properly returned if found. Any items not needed for school should not be brought to school.
- As a reminder, the MS has a "no cell phones" policy again this year. If a student's cell phone is at school, it needs to remain in their locker at all times (upon request, staff will give permission for students to bring their cell to the office to contact parents if that is the preferred method).
