Parent-Teacher Conferences are Coming Up!

Parent-teacher conferences for Hopkins Elementary School will be held on October 22nd (4-7 PM) and October 24th (4-6 PM). Elementary teachers will continue with the past practice of setting up meetings/planned times with parents/guardians in the coming weeks.

October Lunch Menu

Hat Day - October 9th

On Wednesday, October 9, 2024. We will participate in Hopkins Middle School's Hat Day. To wear a hat, students and staff must pay a $1. The money raised will go to a family in the community that lost their father unexpectedly last weekend.

Vike Hike Reminders

  • October 18th ALL pledges need to be turned in to be eligible for raffle prizes
  • Every $25 raised earns you a ticket for one of the individual prizes
  • Individual prizes for most laps completed and most money raised!
  • Top 3 classes with most pledges earned win class parties
  • 1st place wins class pizza party
  • 2nd place wins class cider & donut party
  • 3rd place wins class popcorn party
  • Any student who raises $100 or more gets a pizza party with Mr. Mains
  • October 23rd - Vike Hike Assembly for Prizes

Part Time Custodial Subs Needed!

Hopkins Public Schools is looking for part time custodial subs. These positions would service all buildings in the district. If you are interested or want more information, you can reach out Kyle Bockheim at kylebock@hpsvikings.org

Halloween Parade

Classroom Halloween/Fall Parties will be held on Friday, November 1st, which is a half day of school. Classroom party times will vary by teacher (new for 24-25) to avoid common planning times for teachers. We will also do our Halloween Parade this day. We will push out more information as we get closer.

Pink Out Volleyball Game

On October 24, 2024 the Hopkins Volleyball Program will host their Annual Volley For The Cure - Pink Out Game. Freshmen play at 5 PM, JV at 6 PM and Varsity at 7 PM. There is a bake sale, silent auction & more! You can order pink out gear by going to this link. You also get free admission with your 2024 Pink Out Gear Order if you wear it to the game. All funds generated go to Wings of Hope Hospice in Allegan County.

Student Handbook Updates

For the 2024-2025 school year, Hopkins Elementary School and Sycamore Elementary School revamped their handbooks. Earlier in August, the Hopkins Board of Education approved the changes. You can view the handbook here: https://www.hpsvikings.org/wp-content/uploads/24-25-Elementary-Handbook.pdf


A couple changes of note:

  • Behavior Expectations - Page 15 - includes levels, consequences, and shows you the progressive discipline implemented.
  • Student Appearance - Page 18 - updated language.
  • Field Trips - Page 19 - includes information on how discipline effects field trips.

FinalForms should be updated every year! Remember it has your contact information in it and we know things change over the course of the summer.
