MES Soaring to Success
Principal weekly update
We will be starting our ice cream sales next week on October 1st. Please remember if your child has a negative balance on their lunch account in the cafe, they will not be able to purchase ice cream. Please try to address this before next week as students get very upset when they can not buy ice cream. Thanks for your help with this. As in years past, we will allow each grade to purchase ice cream once a week. This year grades K, 2, 3 will be on Tuesdays and grades 1, 4, 5 will be on Thursdays.
One of the issues we are facing this year is students chewing gum. It becomes an unsafe issue when they are walking around the building. The gum is also not being disposed of correctly and we are finding it all over. Please help us by reminding your students that there is no gum in school. I really appreciate your help with this!
Another reminder for parents that are bringing their students to school late is to make sure you are walking them in and signing them in. Thank you!
Our yearly Open House is this Thursday night from 6:00 - 7:00. We will be running it a little differently this year. Most classrooms will be open from 6:00 - 7:00 for you to visit at any time during that time frame. If your child's teacher or grade level team is going to do a presentation at a particular time they will notify you in advance. Please also stop by the cafe to visit our annual community fair and PTO! You can also check out books from the library with Mrs. Loiseau.
National Rock Your School Day - We have postposed our participation to Monday, October 7th! All students will participate in a morning meeting in the gym where we will celebrate using our imaginations! I am including a video if you would like to see what it is all about! Rock Your School Video
Please click here Artistic Pulse to read our Region 14 arts newsletter.
Picture Day is coming up on Thursday, October 3rd. Please hold your forms and money and send in with your child on Picture Day (NOT before). Thanks for your help with this!

As a reminder, please keep in mind sensibly size water bottles. The giant ones pose issues when spilled. We have water filling stations.
For gym and recess don't forget no flip flops.
