Principal Ponderings
I was completely overwhelmed by all of the love the students and teachers sent my way for School Principal’s Day. My office is a beautiful place right now, covered with posters and notes. I am treasuring all of the heartfelt messages. Thank you for the opportunity to serve in the very best job in the world.
Speaking of appreciation, we are extremely excited about teacher appreciation this week. We have been planning this very special week for many months now. There have been countless family members who have partnered with us to lend their time, energy, and creativity to ensure that every staff member feels loved and valued. I hope that when you are in the building over the next few weeks, you will also take a few minutes to check out what a magical place our school has turned into in the spirit of teacher appreciation. Teachers make an indelible impact on their students and are a huge reason that White Oak is an incredible place for our students to learn and grow.
Please make every effort to join us from 5-7pm for STEM night on Thursday, May 9. As a STEM Certified school, our instructional program looks very different than the average elementary school. As I talk to parents, I realize that many do not have a full understanding of all of the excellent things we are doing to integrate science, technology, engineering, and math. STEM night gives us an opportunity to showcase so many of these initiatives and is a great chance for you to walk in your students' shoes to see how FUN STEM learning is. We believe your children will literally change the world with their brilliant minds and the STEM tools in their toolbox.
