3. Extended Day Fee Restructure -The Walpole Extended Day program provides care to 477 students both before and after school, as well as during school vacations in the four elementary schools utilizing 30 staff members who provide care for the growing number of students. Our Extended Day program has experienced significant expense increases due to labor, inflation, supply cost increases, vendor fee increases and reduction in funding. Fees have been maintained for many years to allow all families to continue to access this vital service. Mr. Friscia presented the proposed increase to after school Extended Day fees only. He explained the proposed fee increase still keeps Walpole below the costs in neighboring towns. After discussion, the School Committee approved the proposal to implement a small yearly increase to the Extended Day after school fees to be implemented over the next two years.
