TCSC Board Approves Strategic Plan
I am pleased to share that the Tipton School Board of Trustees approved the district’s new, three-year (2024-2027) strategic plan at its September board meeting. The plan will serve as the district’s road map to guide future decision making and help our students thrive and reach their highest potential during their educational journey at Tipton Community School Corporation.
We listened to our parents, families, students, and staff to inform us on the best path forward for our schools and our district. The leadership team worked diligently over the summer to develop a strong plan around the three priorities established by the TCSC School Board:
- Student Achievement. We believe that all students can learn and achieve. This is only made possible when students are in attendance and actively engaged in the learning process.
- Communication. We believe in family and community collaboration, and that strong interpersonal, social relationships are necessary to ensure student success both within and outside our buildings.
- Professional Learning. We believe professional development is essential for all staff, and our students deserve instruction that is rooted in evidence-based best practices from well-trained staff.
District leadership set the following building-level and district-level goals, strategies for implementing those goals, and methods for monitoring progress centered around those three priorities to be attained by the end of the 2026-2027 year:
Student Achievement
- Building: Each building will attain their academic achievement or growth goal established in their building’s school improvement plans.
- District: TCSC will have at least 80% of students attending school at least 94% of the time they are enrolled.
Communication
- Building: All TCSC families will receive regular communication from both administration and their child’s teachers.
- District: TCSC will provide opportunities for community representation on advisory committees; effectively and frequently highlight students and staff for in school and extracurricular achievements.
Professional Learning
- Building: All staff will receive formal feedback on their adherence to “The Tipton Way.”
- District: All TCSC professional staff will earn 50 hours of professional development per year.
Developed with attention to detail and careful assessment of our current realities and future needs, the plan will guide our systemic priorities and initiatives which supports our vision of “Growing Empowered, Future-Ready Students, Prepared for a Lifetime of Opportunity and Success” and mission of “Working Together for Student Success.”
Our mission statement centers around how we commit to creating an inspiring and engaging learning environment while helping our students be well prepared for their future. Our vision statement is what we strive for and lean into each day. It’s what we refer to as “The Tipton Way” - actions, behaviors, and opportunities that excite our students and motivate them to work hard toward their dreams and become the best version of themselves.
We believe our plan helps give students access to opportunities and an education they need and deserve while continuing to make TCSC a PreK-12 education destination. The new strategic plan can be accessed here.
