Clark Weekly News (12/6/24)
Growing Together
A note from your Principal
It's been a chilly week outside, but a warm feeling having our students back after the fall break. As we near the end of the first semester, it is an important time for students to buckle down and finish strong. We want to celebrate the many students who are thriving. We also know that we will need to change some schedules and provide some structure for those who are having some difficulties adjusting to the high expectations that sets Clark apart and has been the foundation of our success for 20 years.
In gratitude always,
Dr. Judd
New News or Needs Repeated
We had 3 rings stolen from a student that were left in the girl's bathroom this week. These rings belonged to her grandmother and her mom's class ring. A police report was filed, but at least 1 student at this school knows what happened to the rings. She will not press charges and is even offering $100 of her hard earned money just to get these back. If you know who has the rings or what happened to them, please let Dr. Judd or Mrs. Villwock know. If you do not want to be identified, please put them in an envelope and just get them to our office. The MCSO will be able to view the camera footage for all students who entered the bathroom that morning. We beg you to return these or tell us if they were disposed of.
Art Club is selling homemade holiday cards and crotched small stockings along with candy canes. Bring some money to get your holiday shopping done and support your classmates.

Weekly Tidbits- 11/18-11/22
Today is Make a Difference Monday- As the holiday season approaches, there are many ways to make a difference here at school and in the community. Food pantries are refilling shelves after a busy thanksgiving and need items to help those in need get through the upcoming season. Toys are needed for families who cannot afford to provide them this year. And at no cost, you can learn how to help those who are feeling blue around the holidays by signing up for teen mental health first aid.
Today is Take Care Tuesday- With college exams starting, we know that it can be extra stressful. Make sure you are getting enough rest (cramming for exams never works anyway), eating healthy food, drinking plenty of water to keep your brain working well, and stop and take deep breaths at the first signs of stress or overwhelm.
Today is Way to Go Wednesday and we want to thank Ian Savory for finding some rings lost in a comfy chair. Unfortunately they were not the ones missing from the bathroom, but we appreciate his honesty in turning them in. If you have lost some rings, see Dr. Judd to identify and you can have them back. We also have a second student to recognize. Way to go to Eliana Oseni for showing caring and concern to others.
Today is Think about it Thursday.Honesty and integrity are the foundation of trust and respect. When you choose to be honest and act with integrity, for example you don’t cheat, steal, lie or fail to report inappropriate behavior, you're not just following rules—you're building your character and showing others that they can rely on you. Staying true to your word and being honest in your actions, even when no one is watching, leads to a life of self-respect and meaningful relationships. Think about it.
Today is Fun Fact Fridayand this fact is brought to you by Officer Burgess and Dr. Judd. During an informal poll at carline this morning, it was learned that many students do not know what the phrase TGIF means. This phrase dates back to at least 1941 and there is a restaurant, a movie, a song, and an entire block of late 80s sitcoms that use this phrase. It simply means, “Thank goodness or Thank God it’s Friday.” Now you know why Dr. Judd greets you with this every Friday!
