TMS Weekly Update 2023-2024
June 7, 2024
One Week To Go
As we slide into our last week of school, we want to take a minute to celebrate the graduating senior from THS. You have been a class full of role models that our students should emulate for years to come. Good luck in all your future endeavors.
New Update from the Health Office
Dear TMS Parents/Guardians:
As we approach the end of the school year we wanted to send a friendly reminder of important information for the end of this school year and planning for next year.
Student Medication
Rescue medications ( Epi-Pens, inhalers etc): If you would like your child’s rescue medication returned to you for the summer, please contact us as soon as possible to let us know. Otherwise, these medications will be kept at the school for the next school year. Rescue medications that expire during June, July and August 2024, will be sent home.
Daily and as needed medications: If your child has medication that is administered by the nurse either daily or as needed (example: oral and topical medications ordered by your child’s physician), must be picked up by the last day of school or it will be destroyed. Kindly contact us to make a plan for any leftover medication.
Physical Examinations
Under the guidelines of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and the Massachusetts Department of Education, it is the policy of the Tyngsborough Public School District that students should submit a current Physical Examination report to have on file in the nurse's office prior to entry into the 7th grade. Examinations must be dated within the previous twelve months to be considered current and must include a certificate of proof of immunization. Per state requirements, proof of the following immunizations must be on file for your child (prior to entry in the 7th grade). The required immunizations can be located by clicking here.
Documentation of Physical Examination is also required prior to a student's participation in competitive athletics, on an annual basis. Please do not submit Physicals to a coach. This documentation can be forwarded to the email, fax, or mailing address listed below during the summer or to the School Nurse when your child returns to school. Early submission is very helpful in avoiding delay in your child participating in try-outs and starting the season.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the health office at (978) 649-3115 (option 2). The fax number is 978-649-9194.
Thank you for your anticipated cooperation. Have a safe and healthy summer.
Sincerely,
TMS Health Office
