April is Community College Month
SC4 Participates in Community College Month
The SC4 Board of Trustees adopted a resolution at their April 11, 2024, meeting recognizing April as Community College Month.
The month is promoted nationally by the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) and was recognized with a proclamation by Governor Whitmer.
There are over 1,000 public community colleges in the United States, 31 in Michigan, and one of the first community colleges is located in Port Huron. SC4 was established in 1923 and is a comprehensive community college offering courses that transfer to 4-year Colleges/Universities, Two-year Associate Degrees and one-year Certificates leading to careers, and a variety of individual training, skill-building, and enrichment courses. SC4 provides area communities with a highly qualified and credentialed labor force and serves residents through equitable and local access to higher education.

SC4 Fall Registration is Open
SC4’s fall semester schedule is available
Plan now for fall classes at St. Clair County Community College. Hundreds of classes in 40 disciplines, in subjects ranging from Chemistry to Graphic Design, are being offered this fall semester. Browse the schedule of classes at https://sc4sss03.sc4.edu/student/courses.
The fall semester begins Monday, August 19.

College Housing Available for Fall 2024 at SC4
Housing applications for the 24-25 school year are open.
SC4 college housing offers rooms that meet your every need, XL twin-sized beds, furniture, private bathrooms, high-speed Wi-Fi internet, exterior windows and laundry facilities.
Additionally housing students benefit from in-district tuition rates, free Blue Water Area Transit bus pass, Door Dash, Dash Pass accounts, and complementary YMCA membership.

Students, once you've completed registration for the 2024 fall semester you can visit Glenda in the welcome center lobby to claim your free t-shirt! T-shirts are limited so make sure to register early!!!
Please have your student portal pulled up when claiming t-shirt to present proof of registration.
Welcome Center is open Monday – Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

SC4 Campus Life
SC4’s Symphonic Band is set to perform a ‘The Call of the Water’ concert at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, April 20, in SC4’s Fine Arts Theatre. This concert is free to students, faculty, staff and the community.
The band is directed by Erick Senkmajer.

College Adviser Openings for 2024-25
St. Clair County has 5 current opening for College Advisers for the 2024-25 school year. Advisers openings with Michigan State University College Advising Corps (MSUCAC) at Yale, Memphis, and Capac and AdviseMI at Port Huron High and St. Clair High Schools. Both MSUCAC and AdviseMI are recruiting and pre screening candidates but referrals are often the most effective way to hire these positions, especially from local alumni returning to the area.
