NES 9/16/24 Family Newsletter
9/16/24
Dear NES Families,
Happy Friday the 13th! We are moving into the busiest (and fun) months of our year with lots of activities, parent engagement events, and dress up days. Keep an eye out for these reminders in each week's newsletter to keep up with calendar changes and activities that students and parents can participate in.
Testing for the FAST and STAR assessments is complete! We are digging into this data to help lead instructional decisions. Student scores are available online through the parent portal/Skyward. Please click the link for more information: bit.ly/okeefamilyportal.
We are still working to get all parents connected in Rooms, please read below for an opportunity after your student's APTT meeting to get help troubleshooting and connected to stay informed all year. Just a reminder to enable notifications in your settings for the app to notify you when updates are shared.
Congratulations to our students of the week for making great choices last week!
GOOOOO TIGERS!!!
Warm regards,
Mrs. Jessica Lowe, Principal
Mrs. Heather Briney, Assistant Principal

SAFETY
SAFETY REMINDER: Students should NOT be dropped off on the road in front of the school. If you are dropping off, you must pull into the parent drop off area. Students who are using the pedestrian gate/crosswalk must be escorted to the crosswalk/pedestrian gate by an adult. They should not be walking along the roadside unescorted as this is a safety concern with moving traffic. Thank you for helping us to keep students safe each day!
APTT MEETINGS
Invites for APTT meetings will be coming home today. Please fill out the bottom portion and return to your child's teacher to let them know if you can or cannot attend. We will be celebrating the class with the highest parent attendance for APTT and would love to have 100% of parents attend!
Below is information and logistics about the mornings of APTT Fall & Spring Meetings:
All Meetings 8:30-9:30 a.m.
Parents will present ID and sign in at the hallway in front of the main office
Parents will be able to walk to the classroom for their parent team meeting at 8:25 to sign in there
At 9:30, parents will leave classrooms so academic instruction can begin for students
If you are still having difficulty with accessing Rooms or receiving notifications from the school app, bring your cell phone and we will try to assist and troubleshoot after APTT to make sure this communication tool is up and running smoothly for you!
