Keira Crisswell placed 7th at the Uniontown Golf Tournament at Woodland Hillsl. She shot a 101 (Front 47, Back 54).
EJSHS Students Place at State Archery
Several EJSHS students have been hard at work after school, in the evenings, and on weekends sharpening their archery skills. All of this hard work paid off big for them at State Archery! Savanna Bruno-Pelky placed 2nd overall in Senior Barebow. Camden Wunderlich placed 1st in Junior Bowhunter, Fisher Hobbs placed 2nd, William Davis placed 7th, and Brody Mitchell placed 23rd. Camden teamed up with EJSHS graduate Wylee Boulanger to place 1st in the Bowhunter Team. Camden also placed 2nd in the Junior Open Compound division. Fisher placed 7th and William placed 10th. Congratulations to all!
It's Homecoming Week!
Students to Travel to Greenbush for Reality U Simulation
Students in 8th and 10th grade will have the unique opportunity to attend Reality U on October 15 at the Greenbush Education Service Center. The students will load buses at 8:05 and will return prior to the end of the school day. This full-day event provides students with hands-on career exploration and real world experiences in a collaborative and engaging environment. We will join students from other districts to participate in a variety of activities including, but not limited to, Reality U, career chats, games, and more. Lunch will be provided. We are looking forward to an exciting and educational day of real life simulations and collaboration!
MEET OUR STAFF
Mrs. Kathy Noll has been employed with USD 389 for 9 years. Her favorite thing about EJSHS is the students. In her free time, Mrs. Noll enjoys watching home improvement shows and reading. Her favorite book is "Stranger in the Mirror", her favorite meal is taco salad, and her favorite snack is nuts or hot tamales. Mrs. Noll's favorite song is "A Summer Place" by Percy Faith. A fun fact many may not know about her is that she plays pool on a league in Oklahoma.
Shelly Hoyt graduated from the University of Nebraska @ Kearney and has been in education for 34 years! She is a special education teacher and is teaching reading, math, and study skills in her resource room. She has also been the 8th grade science teacher during this first nine weeks. Her favorite subject to teach is math. In Mrs. Hoyt's free time she enjoys spending time with her dogs and family. She also enjoys cheering on Oklahoma State Women's Basketball and Nebraska. Her favorite book is The Bible and the In Present Darkness series and her favorite songs are "Goodness of God" and "Good Day". Mrs. Hoyt's favorite meal is steak, baked potato, and salad and her favorite snacks are protein balls, popcorn, and celery and peanut butter.
Myron Shinkle has been employed by USD 389 for 2 years. His favorite thing about EJSHS is the people. His favorite subject was history and in his free time, Myron likes to play cards on the computer. His favorite book is "Call of the Wild", his favorite song is "You Should Be Here", and his favorite team to cheer for is the Kansas City Chiefs. Myron's favorite meal is steak, mashed potatoes, and corn on the cob and his favorite snack is snickers or M&Ms. Something many may not know about Myron is that his first job was summer maintenance for the Eureka School District.
Mr. Steve Knapp has been in education for 17 years. He attended Evangel University and Emporia State University. He is currently teaching band, guitar, drum line, and Music Exploration. His favorite subject to teach is band. In his free time he enjoys golfing, kayaking, disc golf, and playing the drums and guitar. Mr. Knapp's favorite book is The Bible and his favorite song is "Let's Go" by Cory Wong. His favorite college team is Kansas State, his favorite meal is burgers and fries, and his favorite snack is peanut butter M&Ms. A fun fact many may not know about Mr. Knapp is that he was on the bowling team in high school.
This is Brooklyn Ptacek's first year with EJSHS! Her favorite thing about being here is she loves the teachers here and the way they care about their students! Her favorite subject in school was English. In her free time, Ms. Ptacek likes to do something creative! Her favorite book is "The Fault in Our Stars" which she has read 8 times, and her favorite song is "Tell Him" by Lauryn Hill. Ms. Ptacek's favorite meal is sushi, her favorite candy is Rolo's, and her favorite college teams are Fort Hays State and KU. A fun fact many people may know know about her is that she is pretty good at whistling.
Thomas Lowe is in his first year in education. He is currently attending Ottawa University and teaching PE and Health. His favorite subject to teach is PE. In his free time he likes to hunt, fish, and golf. His favorite book is any of the Jack Reacher series and his favorite song is "Grandpa Told Me So" by Kenny Chesney. Mr. Lowe's favorite meal is steak and his favorite snack is either nuts or Reese's. His favorite teams to cheer for are the Kansas State Wildcats, Kansas City Chiefs and Royals.
