Kindergarten News

Work with your child at home to practice name spelling, writing, and recognition. Once they have mastered their first name, start working on their last name.

We will start right away learning letter names and sounds. Practicing at home is extremely important!

We will be working on one to one correspondence with numbers 1-10.

We will collect data and learn how to use it in a graph.

We will learn all about our 5 senses.

We will learn all of the different parts of a story including characters, setting, problem, and solution.

Students will explore how to make a pattern with different objects.

We will learn about jobs and important people in our community.

We will learn about different ways to describe an object. This can be by color, size, or shape.

This is an important lifelong skill that kindergarteners need!

Research shows that reading for 20 minutes every night can drastically improve students ability to read and succeed in the future. This is a great way to bond with your child too!

Teachers will send home folders every day with student work and important information. Checking it every day will keep you in the loop on what your child is learning.
