We are fortunate to have such great diversity of cultures in our community so we can celebrate with our friends and neighbors!
We understand students may not be attending classes on religious holidays of all faiths, and we know how important it is for us to support our students as they practice their faith. Please refer to our procedure, Homework Procedures and Religious Holidays, that District 103 uses to guide students during their absence.
Please try to notify your child's school in advance of a planned absence using the following methods:
Sprague: 847-945-6686 or Ls_attendance@d103.org
Half Day: 847-634-1484 or Hd_attendance@d103.org
Daniel Wright: 847-604-5280 or Dw_attendancce@d103.org
District 103 is committed to being flexible to ensure all of our students can practice their faith and feel supported. Thank you for partnering with us as we raise our Leaders in Learning.
Be a Part of Our Culture of Safety!
Safety is a top priority in D103. When there is a situation or incident that requires us to enact our safety protocols, having a shared language is essential for ensuring accurate communication and keeping everyone safe. Please take a moment to review our “language of safety” adopted from the iloveuguys Foundation. Additional information about safety measures in D103 can be found on our website.
Important Child Passenger Safety Information
The Lincolnshire Police Department has shared the following guidance regarding child passenger safety:
- The Illinois Secretary of State’s Office recommends that juveniles under age 12 ride in the rear seat for safety, but this is not a legal requirement.
- Illinois law requires children under age 8 to be secured in a child safety seat:
- Newborns to age 2 must be in a rear-facing seat unless they weigh at least 40 lbs or are at least 40 inches tall.
- After that, children must be in a front-facing child safety seat or booster seat, whichever fits them properly.
- There is no legal requirement for children to ride in the backseat, but it is strongly recommended for safety.
For more details, please refer to Illinois Vehicle Code 625 ILCS 25/4 or visit the Illinois Secretary of State’s website [here].
Stay safe, and let us know if you have any questions!

2nd-Grade Family Folk Dance Night
Second-grade families mark your calendars for 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 6! It's Sprague's second-grade Family Folk Dance Night and you are all invited to join us in the big gym for some great fun. Your students have learned many movement games and dances and they want you to try them, too! This is not a performance, but a chance to move to the music and join the fun. All family members of second-graders are invited to participate in the activities. Yes, that means if you have younger/older siblings, grandma, baby - they are welcome, too! Music teachers Mr. Kahn, Mrs. Orals, and Half Day's Mrs. Smidt will be leading the activities. Come when you can, and leave when you must. It's very casual and we look forward to seeing you on the 6th of March! Don't forget to wear comfy shoes!

Forgotten items include coats, boots, gloves, and water bottles. Ask your child to visit the lost & found bins if something is missing.
