SURPRISE! District Recognizes Campus Teachers of the Year!
It was a special day last Friday in Argyle ISD! It was the Super Bowl of ANNOUNCEMENTS! Argyle ISD recognized its campus Teachers of the Year on the Prize Parade!
The six teachers were surprised in their classrooms and we included all the teachers and students in this experience. It was truly a memorable moment for the teachers who were so deserving of the special attention.
This year's honorees, nominated by their colleagues for their outstanding contributions to Argyle ISD students are:
Amy Ball, 2nd Grade, Hilltop Elementary
Kim Navarro, Special Education, Argyle South Elementary
Martha Murphy, Physical Education, Argyle West Elementary
Dana Pelt, Emergent Bilingual, Sixth Grade Center
Caroline Edwards, 8th Grade Social Studies, Argyle Middle School
Lori McClanahan, Forensic Science, Argyle High School
See all the photos and videos on Argyle ISD's social media accounts!
To make the day’s announcements truly special, each honoree was celebrated at their home campus with a Prize Parade! The parade featured the district administrative team, Argyle Education Foundation, Communications Team, Jostens, Eagle mascot, AHS cheer, and AHS drumline, all joining the students and teachers of each honoree’s campus in celebration of them. A special treat included family members of each winner being able to attend and share in the pride and excitement of the occasion.
Each Teacher of the Year received a $500 check sponsored by Pogue Construction, cash prizes from the Lisa M. Z. Endowment Fund provided by the Argyle Education Foundation, bouquets and custom cookies from Argyle Party and Gift, and gift baskets filled with items sponsored by Eagle Partners. Additionally, they were surprised with "class rings" sponsored by Jostens, emphasizing the lasting impact of their dedication to education.
SOARING STAR Award Winner! AMS Counselor
Congratulations to the Argyle ISD Soaring Star of February, Argyle Middle School Counselor Mrs. Holly Burleson. 💫
This is Mrs. Burleson's second year as a counselor at AMS and her sixth year in counseling. Those that nominated her say Mrs. Burleson goes above and beyond! She is the definition of the core value "respectful relationships." She is so intentional with 8th grade scheduling and places each kid in the best learning environment possible! When teachers bring her concerns about students, she springs into action to make the AMS community stronger and to cultivate positive relationships.
Thank you, Mrs. Burleson, for always making an impact in your students' lives and for continuing to Soar Higher!
