We could not have asked for better weather for our PTA fundraiser Color Games this afternoon. Thank you to all who participated and supported PTA and the amazing work they do for SBMS.

While we sent an email this morning, I want to give another reminder to ask your student for their MAP scores print out. It is one page, in color, and illustrates growth made in Science, Reading, and Math. If you have questions about MAP, reach out to Casondra Monahan at casondra.monahan@comalisd.org.

Today is the deadline for all students to submit their course plans for next year on SchooLinks. You may have received an automatic email from SchooLinks instructing you to approve your plan. Please disregard this email -- the program was "too efficient." You will receive and email from Comal ISD next Wednesday, 2/13/25 with specific directions on how parents approve course plans. The parent approval window is 2/17 - 2/28. Please reach out to your child's counselor if you have any questions.

Finally, a quick reminder that next weekend is a nice break for students -- no school for them on Feb 14 and Feb. 17. We will be encouraging them to have a book or two from the library in their backpack. Our reading teams are still going strong, so if your Wrangler tells you they are bored, send them into the sunshine with their book!

P.S. Next week is Bus Driver Appreciation Week -- if your kiddo is lucky enough to be able to ride the bus home, please show this dedicated group some appreciation. We don't have enough drivers, so it would be great to let those we DO have know how much they are appreciated!

If your 8th grader is interested in trying out for the SVHS Silver Spurs or Silverado dance teams, there is a mandatory tryout meeting on February 10th starting at 5:30pm in the SVHS senior dining hall.

Students interested in trying out for the Wrangler Golf teams must attend a mandatory tryout interest meeting on Feb 12 at 7:50 AM in Coach T's room 306. As a reminder, students must have a physical on file to tryout.

If your 7th or 8th grade student is interested in trying out for the SBMS boys or girls tennis teams, a mandatory tryout interest meeting will take place on Thursday, February 13th at 7:45 AM in the main gym. Tryouts take place the following week February 19-21st after school starting at 4 PM on the tennis courts.

If your student is interested in trying out for the 2025-26 Cheer/Mascot team, there is a mandatory tryout interest meeting on February 19 beginning at 6 PM in the SBMS cafeteria. Parent and student must attend. Tryouts begin the week of March 3rd.

If your student is interested in trying out for the SBMS Silver Stars dance team, there is a mandatory tryout interest meeting on February 19th beginning at 6 PM in the SBMS cafeteria. Dancers must bring a parent/guardian to the meeting in order to tryout. Tryouts begin the week of March 10th.

Join the SBMS Silver Stars dance team for a night of enchantment at our annual Daddy Daughter Dance on Saturday, February 22. Families that register by January 18th will receive a tshirt.
