NEED TO KNOW
The Sound of Music was a success!!
If you didn't make it to one of three shows that this talented cast and crew performed this weekend, you missed an amazing production! Director, Kavin Ley, and his talented musical director (and lovely wife) Betsy Ley, poured their hearts into this full scale production of the family favorite.
Sophomore, Ivy Witmer, took on the lead role of Maria, with Freshman, Andy Sondek, stepping up to play the role of Captain Georg Von Trapp. Oak Farm Montessori students from Primary through high school filled the roles of the seven Von Trapp children, while the supporting cast and crew was comprised of OFMS students, home school, and area students. *Follow this link to view the full cast & creative profiles!
Congratulations to everyone on an outstanding job!

Athletic Complex Update
Before spring break, Candice shared an update on the Athletic Complex that is currently being built on the east side of Lemper Road. While it seems that earth moving is all that is happening, there has been a lot of work going on behind the scenes. From the sign that was installed right after spring break, to the making of a marketing video that not only features OFMS student-athletes, but our own Athletic Director, Donna Wolfe. We invite you to mark your calendar for the official groundbreaking ceremony that will take place on Wednesday, May 15th at 4:00pm on the east side of Lemper Road, across from Lorene’s Way. Everyone is invited to join us as we officially kick off the campaign to reach our goal of $3 million. Should you have any questions about the complex or groundbreaking, please contact Kim Davidson.

SOCIAL SHARING
Let's go to the farm!
Let's go to the farm!
Today was our toddler's field trip day. Luckily, our diverse 150 acre campus provides all the entertainment these little explorers could ever desire. After spending some time showing their parents around their own playground, they traveled through campus to the middle school farm.
The students had four different, engaging environments prepared for the toddlers to learn, interact with animals, and sensorially explore. These mentoring opportunities allow students to share their expertise and be leaders. Dr. Montessori created a philosophy that relies heavily on multi-age classrooms and cross level mentoring to allow learning by teaching. At Oak Farm Montessori School, this practice is nurtured and enjoyed by our students; young and old.
Science, Technology, Agriculture and more...
FFA is so much more than farming! The Oak Farm Montessori FFA chapter traveled to the District Convention last month to compete against 16 other chapters. The twenty-four members who competed have only been a chapter for a short time, but they didn't let that stop them from finishing in fourth place with 250 points.
While only 1st place winners advance to the state competition, we had an outstanding show of competitors. Congratulations to Derek Hale, advancing in Junior Agriscience and the Discovery Quiz Bowl Team comprised of: Nick Mains, Avery Cather, Autumn Dixon, and Evelyn Brittenham. Best of luck at State in June!
