Safety Walk
During the month of October, classroom teachers will be taking their classes on a walk to Islands of Peace Park. This is an opportunity for students to practice walking to our safe location. Students and staff may need to evacuate the building due to an unknown smell, fire, structural problem with our school or some other safety risk.
PTO
Hello families,
We had an amazing summer and a productive first meeting! Over the summer, we approved a new drying rack for the art room and a circle rug for the kindergarten classroom that received new flooring. During our first meeting, we also approved several initiatives, including Family Night and the Book a Minute giveaway that took place last night!
We also have your first opportunity to support the PTO/teachers/staff in a super simple way. On October 25, we are going to have a Nacho and root beer float potluck for the staff. Take note several items on this you could drop off anytime during that week however, ice cream and any items that would need to be brought hot (Taco, beef, taco, chicken, beans, etc) would need to be delivered on Friday before 10:30 AM. We also need a few people to help with set up/tear down (super short!!) So here’s the link and thank you so much!

Make the Most Out of Story Time
Indigenous People's Day
Boozhoo Stevenson Families,
Our scholars are preparing to learn about Indigenous Peoples this year and we are asking for our families to help be a part of our Stevenson Story.
This year our Students will be learning about Lakota, Nakota, Dakota Winter Counts and how these communities wrote their History! Students will be coming home with a project that we are asking families to help in creating their own Winter Counts at home to bring back and share at school. Instructions will be included with their assignment along with a small video on Seesaw.
If you are unable to access Seesaw please connect with your child's teacher.
We look forward to seeing your stories shared with us at school.
Chi-Miigwech/ Thank you for supporting our Students to continue to learn about different cultures and celebrating Indigenous Peoples Day!
Fall FastBridge Screening
Stevenson is committed to supporting every student’s academic, social, emotional and behavioral growth. As part of this process students have completed FastBridge Learning assessments in the areas of Math, Reading, and SEL. The screening data collected will be used to develop instructional next steps to support individual student growth. More information will be shared and reviewed at your child’s upcoming fall conference.

Strengthen Our Community by Volunteering!
There are always opportunities at Stevenson with field trips, classroom teacher projects, Parent Teacher Organization, and school events to help our school.
All Volunteers must fill out the volunteer application and clear a background check through human resources. All information is confidential and at no cost to our volunteers.
We highly suggest adults complete the volunteer process at the beginning of the year to be ready at a moments notice for any event!
