Art and Literacy Night success!
Thank you to everyone who participated in our first Art and Literacy Night! The students had a wonderful experience painting with Paint with a Twist and then visiting the different literacy stations to make bookmarks, flip books, comic books, etc. It was so nice to see the students with their tote bags and new books and visiting the stations with a parent. I wasn't able to stay, but I saw photos of the families dining together on pizza al fresco in the lunch pavilion between rotations. Thank you to Mrs. Wright for putting the entire thing together and to the teachers who helped make the evening so special. Hopefully we will receive ELOP and CAP funding to do it again next year!
SBA TESTING (GRADES 3-5th)
State testing is here! It is critical that students attend each day ON TIME, are well rested, and either eat breakfast before school, or come early enough to eat at school! Make sure your children are not late! Kids arriving at 8:30 or later must sit in the library until recess time. Students are working towards a big special mystery surprise for ATTENDANCE, ATTITUDE, AND EFFORT!
ELA SBA (3rd-5th): 5/6, 5/7, and 5/9
Math SBA (3rd-5th): 5/13 and 5/14
School Safety Updates
Yesterday's lockdown was very scary for our school community. I am so grateful to all of our students and staff for following the lockdown procedures and keeping the students safe until the police were able to resolve the situation. In the process of sending the Connect message to the community, we learned that 80 families have "opted out" of receiving text messages from the school and 5 families had "opted out" of receiving emails! Fortunately we were able to reach all 5 people to opt back in to email! I know it can be annoying, but if you never receive any text messages from Enadia, please opt in by texting "START LAUSD" to 91841. This is the quickest way to get alerted of important information and we try not to overuse it. LAPD visited the school today and offered to host a parent meeting to discuss ways we can band together to keep our school community safe in this crazy world. I feel it is very important for parents to understand the school's procedures during a lockdown to communicate with one another, relay information to parents, and how we keep students and staff safe until the "all clear" is given. Please look for further information regarding the town hall style meeting soon!
