❔ Mystery Reader 📚
We are excited about a special activity in our preschool: the Mystery Reader! This fun initiative by the preschool teachers aims to foster a love of reading while engaging our preschoolers in a unique and interactive way. Each week, a special guest will surprise the children by reading a story in the HS Media Center. The identity of the reader will remain a mystery until they reveal themselves before reading! If you would like to be a Mystery Reader and share your favorite story with our preschoolers, please let us know!
Leader in Me
"The Leader in Me" is a program that empowers children to become leaders in their own lives. It focuses on building skills like responsibility, teamwork, and problem-solving, all of which are crucial for their growth and development.
Benefits for Preschoolers:
- Improved Social Skills: Children learn to interact positively with peers and adults.
- Increased Confidence: As they set and achieve goals, their self-esteem grows.
- Responsibility: They learn the importance of being accountable for their actions.
- Critical Thinking: Early exposure to problem-solving helps develop analytical skills.
By incorporating these principles at a young age, we help our children become confident leaders ready to tackle future challenges.
Preschool Days
Some exciting updates about what’s been happening in our preschool classrooms.
Students have been exploring outside, collecting leaves, and removing trash that was found around the playground. They made home-made play"dough" during our Bread unit to play with in the classroom, learning to measure, mix, and knead dough. Preschoolers learned about soccer outside with the "big" kids during their gym time and took advantage of a rainy day by playing basketball inside with the Girls Varsity and JV Basketball Coaches.

Important Reminders & Helpful Tips
Dress Code & Jackets
Please be aware that preschoolers will go outside to recess every day unless there is inclement weather. Therefore, we ask you to consider the daily temperatures and send a jacket/coat with your child accordingly. As we experience wet and cold weather, please remember that snow boots are essential for your child's comfort and safety during outdoor activities.
Tips:
- Send in shoes when boots are worn to school.
- Write your child's name in their jacket.
- Jackets that are to be worn inside may not have face masks attached.
Inclement Weather Days
When it comes to determining school days off due to inclement weather, our district will consider several factors, including: safety, weather forecast, and school policies for closure. GSRP will follow the same canceled days as our K-12 students. Notification will go out via various news alerts, Facebook, and a School Messenger text or phone call.
Supplies
- Please make sure all supplies are clearly labeled with your child’s name.
- A travel size blanket, pillow and crib sheet need to be provided by the parent for their child. On your child's last day of the week, pillowcases, sheets and blankets will be sent home to be washed.
- 2-3 changes of clothes in a Ziploc bag labeled with child's name.
