Words with Miss Renee
Check out these book character pumpkins! Thanks to those that have already dropped some off. The kids LOVE looking at them. We'll announce winners on Halloween!
Life news! I have been given an incredible opportunity to spend more time with my own family and have made the difficult decision to leave my position at DCTPL. I am forever a changed person (and reader) because of everything I have learned from the staff and patrons here. My last day will be November 7th and until then, I'll still be here with smiles, hugs, and book suggestions!
Yours in literacy and in life,
Renee Bowman
Youth Services Manager
P.S. Come see me, Miss Maddie, and Dani the Dinosaur at Trunk or Treat during Scares on the Square on Saturday from 6:00-9:00. Look for the giant Crayola Crayon box!

Young Adult Fiction (YAF RIO)
The original heroes from The Lightning Thief are reunited for their biggest challenge yet: getting Percy to college when the gods are standing in his way.
After saving the world multiple times, Percy Jackson is hoping to have a normal senior year. Unfortunately, the gods aren’t quite done with him. Percy will have to fulfill three quests in order to get the necessary three letters of recommendation from Mount Olympus for college.
The first quest is to help Zeus’s cup-bearer retrieve his goblet before it falls into the wrong hands. Can Percy, Grover, and Annabeth find it in time?
Readers new to Percy Jackson and fans who have been awaiting this reunion for more than a decade will delight equally in this latest hilarious take on Greek mythology.

Easy Chapter (EC GRE)
A heavily illustrated chapter book series about sports and sportsmanship.
Ben Cutler loves everything about soccer! He’s got a great team, and they have the best pre-game chants and half-time jokes. He and his best friend, Jay-Jay, even invent dances for when they score a goal! And Ben is good at soccer. Like REALLY good. Too good for a casual rec team. Soon, he’s recruited for a travel team.
His new team plays amazingly well, but they take soccer super seriously. No pre-game chants, no juice-box breaks, and the most important rule - NO DANCING. Even though his new team is winning all the time, Ben is left to ask, is winning all that matters in the end?
