Looking Back on Last Week
Renewed Accreditation
We are pleased to announce our continued accreditation by the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI), the Northwest Accreditation Commission (NWAC) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI).
Cognia recognizes schools across the globe that meet rigorous standards focused on productive learning environments, equitable resource allocation, and effective leadership. To earn Cognia accreditation, a school must submit to internal and external review. Earning accreditation from the Cognia Global Accreditation Commission means that the school meets Cognia Performance Standards and maintains a commitment to continuous improvement. Schools in good standing can maintain their accreditation for a six-year term.
Photography by Preschoolers
Preschoolers love having Mr. Yearwood visit the classroom, and getting the chance to take pictures with his phone is a favorite activity. As you can imagine, these little photographers take some fun and unexpected pictures!
ACEA Competition
Down Time
What do you do between performances at the ACEA Competition? Play pinecone and stick baseball of course!
Archery at Boaz
The Archery Team competed at Boaz on Thursday and Friday. Everyone did a great job. Congratulations to Gwendlyn Griffin who earned 1st Place in the Elementary Girls division and to Ashley Thompson who placed 3rd in High School Girls!
Another congrats goes to Caleb Randolph on getting his personal best at this tournament with a score of 262.
UA Admissions Visit
Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors had the chance to learn more about The University of Alabama on Tuesday. Not only did they learn about potential majors, the costs associated with college, and scholarship opportunities, they also learned about the admission process and how it works for most colleges and universities. The students did a fantastic job interacting with our guest and asking valuable questions. The next upcoming college visitors are: Maranatha University, Pensacola Christian College, and Crowley's Ridge College.
Let there be light!

Tell Your Friends!
Open enrollment for NEW STUDENTS officially opened on March 1st!
If you have friends who have expressed interest, please encourage them to get started with the online application at https://www.cullmanchristian.org/applications .
Steps to Enrollment:
- School Tour - We recommend that new families schedule a tour to meet with school administrators and learn more about CCS.
- Online Application - All prospective students must complete an application online at https://www.cullmanchristian.org/applications . The fee for this application is $175.
- Student Shadowing - Spending the day in classes is a great way for potential students to see what a day at CCS is like. This is a good way to help a potential student/family see if it's a good fit before making a significant financial commitment.
- Academic Screening - Once an application has been submitted, the prospective student will be scheduled for an academic screener.
- School Records - Records from the current school will be requested. This request will include grades, attendance, discipline, and recommendation.
- Remaining Documents - Any remaining required documents (i.e. birth certificate, immunizations, etc.) must be submitted.
- Admission Decision - When all data has been collected, the CCS Admission Committee reviews each prospective student application. Resulting decision information is sent to the parent.

The CHOOSE Act (Alabama's School Choice Act)
By now you should have heard that Alabama lawmakers passed a new education savings account program, the CHOOSE Act, earlier this year. They have now launched a new website that provides the latest information about the program, including eligibility information.
The family application process for the 2025-2026 school year opened on January 2, 2025 and will close on April 7, 2025.
Funding for eligible students includes up to $7,000 per participating student enrolled in a participating school. CCS is an approved, participating school.
Visit the link below for more information.
Proof of Enrollment for the Alabama CHOOSE Act
If you have applied for the Alabama Choose Act, you will soon be receiving an email from info@factsmgmt.com requesting you to upload proof of enrollment for the 2025-2026 school year. To receive this proof of enrollment, first you need to have re-enrolled your child for next school year and paid the re-enrollment fee.
Once that has been completed, please email Mrs. Smothers at jada.smothers@cullmanchristian.com and she will send you the proof that you will need.
A Few Other Items
Senior Scholarships
Class of 2025:
The last few scholarship applications are coming to a close! Make sure that you are keeping track of important dates and deadlines through your grade level Google Classroom and on the CCS Guidance & Counseling Website.
Graduation Supplies
Senior Parents: It's almost time for graduation supply orders. Be on the lookout for information coming soon about supply orders (cap/gown, diploma, regalia, etc.). Seniors completed diploma applications with Mrs. Yearwood last week. Commencement exercises are scheduled for Thursday, May 22nd.
Course Registration for 2025-2026 (Upper School)
Mrs. Yearwood will be meeting with upper school students about selecting courses for next year. With increased enrollment interest and the growing need for additional instructors, we would like to begin planning the schedule and desired course electives a little earlier than normal.
We humbly ask for our parents to be praying about the additional teachers that we are asking God to prepare and send to CCS.
Just to make sure that you read all the way to the bottom.... 😉
