PBMS Vision
PBMS strives to be a place where students want to come to school, parents want to send their children and staff want to come to work.
Message from the Principal
We started the week with schedule changes that were made to reduce class sizes. We also worked to honor all elective change requests. We appreciate all you did as parents to help your child transition to a new schedule. We know change is hard but it is common for middle schools to make adjustments to schedules, especially when enrollment grows and we get to add new teachers and classes to the schedule. In years past, the changes happened in the 2nd or 3rd month of school. We were very happy to make all of the changes after just two weeks and before Back to School Night.
Back to School Night (BTSN): Be sure to save the date, Thursday, September 5 from 5:00-7:00pm. There are some special meetings at 4:30 and 7:00. Check out this flyer for details: BTSN. Classroom visits run from 5:00pm - 7:00pm. You will follow your child's schedule for 10 minute presentations in each class with a 5 minute passing period. Students will bring home a form with their schedule next week. If you cannot make it, we will share all of the presentations in the Family Bulletin next Thursday. The presentations include an introduction, the course syllabus, contact information and how to get help. We hope to see you there.
Picture Day: Picture day for all students and staff is this Thursday, August 29. We also have a make-up day scheduled for Wednesday, October 9. Parents can view the pictures before buying any. Here is a link with more information: LINK. One important tip: Don't wear green.
Yearbook: Order your yearbook by Friday, August 30 to get early bird pricing of $40 at jostens.com.
Middle School Athletics: Due to high numbers of students trying out for afterschool sports, we extended tryouts this week. Stay connected when coaches and the district announce the final rosters and schedules, usually a week after tryouts, here https://sdusdathletics.com/middle-schools/. Always have your students check the green chalkboards by the PE building for immediate or updated information. If you still have questions, email Mr. Bauer at sbauer@sandi.net.
Welcome Back Packets: Last week, your child received a packet with a lot of information and forms for you to return. The packet did NOT include the Facts for Parents booklet. You can access it online using the links below or request a booklet from Alma Nelson aneslon@sandi.net. Please complete and return the forms in the packet ASAP. Thank you.
