Message from the Principal, Mrs. Gale
Welcome Back to Our Students, Staff, and Families!
We hope you had a wonderful winter break filled with joy, relaxation, and special memories with family and friends. As we begin the second semester, we would like to remind you of a few important items:
Walking Club & Recess: Students will be outside for walking club and recess if the "feels-like" temperature is 15 degrees or higher. Please ensure your student(s) are dressed appropriately for the weather.
Morning Arrival: Students may begin entering the building at 7:55 a.m., and the tardy bell rings at 8:05 a.m. If students arrive after 8:05, they must enter through the main door on 3rd Street to receive a tardy pass.
Lunch Assignments for Late Arrivals: All students arriving late will be provided with an A lunch.
Building-Wide Expectations: During the first week back, we will reteach and reinforce our building-wide expectations. Please take time to review the Washington Way with your child:
- Be Respectful
- Be Responsible
- Be Safe
- Be Kind
- Be a Positive Influence
Your partnership in reinforcing these values will help us ensure a successful and productive second semester.
Thank you for your continued support!
Counselor Corner, Victoria Simmons
Hello, Wildcat Ohana!
Here we are, ushering in a new year - 2025. As a child born in the 80s, I am still in a bit of shock each year we get further into the 2000s.
Does your family participate in coming up with New Year's Resolutions? I see both sides but typically fall in the "Yes! New year! New and better me! Let's set a new goal!" crowd. Why? Probably because I believe that every person can improve little by little as we grow. That should be our mindset, right? It doesn't have to start on January 1st by any means but somehow it seems like a fresh start and a great time to assess what I'm doing well and what I can improve on. I love the idea of "day by day...we get better and better!" Of course I do, I'm a Nebraskan, right?!
So cheers to the New Year and our goal-setting-selves! I'm so happy to be a part of the Washington Ohana. It is by far my favorite school ever and I love growing with you all! Thank you for being such a great community, Wildcats!
