109 Gives Back Holiday Gift Drive
It's that time of year for chilly mornings, hot chocolate, and our district-wide holiday gift drive! Next week, keep an eye out for an email with the gift sign-up list. Donations can be dropped off in school lobbies from Monday, December 2nd, through Wednesday, December 11th. When dropping off donations, please label each item with the family name it’s intended for, as gifts are organized by anonymous family names.

LMC Seeking Family Input (2nd Posting)
The Walden LMC was awarded a grant to update and expand our ebook collection! If you would like to share your thoughts and opinions about what types of ebooks should be purchased, please complete this survey. I am so appreciative of all the responses so far. The first round of replies raised many interesting questions and concerns from families. You can find answers to some of the frequently asked questions in this document.
Many thanks - Mrs. Lovsin

Student Council Round-up! (Written by 5th graders Bella T. and Tessa W.)
Student council is made up of 5th graders that want to help our school. The goal of student council is to help out our community. There are 4 committees in the student council that are based on the Walden staff committees. We got to choose what committees we were most interested in. Each committee has its own goals!
The Communication committee’s job is all about communicating with our school community. We make calendars with school events so everyone knows what is going on in the school.
Instructional leadership is all about making sure Walden has the best teaching and learning possible. This year, 5th graders get to help our primary kids out with their learning by doing some practice games and activities with them. This committee also models being kind, no matter what school subject you’re working on!
The SEL Committee helps run assemblies and also will run a spring Talent Show. This committee tells the school how to follow the Walden Way .
The Inclusive Practices committee works to include everyone in the school. One thing they do is make a holiday calendar, which shows different cultures. They also include the new students at Walden and help show them around the school.
We love student council!
