Knights News !!!!
November 20 - 25
Dear Families,
Wow! What an event and a community! A HUGE thank you to the many volunteers, community members, shoppers and especially to our school council for making this year's Bath Holiday Bazaar such an overwhelming success. I will never be able to smell a cinnamon bun again without conjuring up memories of this festive event. We certainly have a lot to celebrate at Bath PS!!
Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week
November 19 - 25, is Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week. Throughout the week, students, school staff and parents are encouraged to learn more about bullying, including cyberbullying, and their effects on student learning and well-being.
We know that a safe and accepting learning environment is essential for student achievement and well-being. This is why we strive to ensure our school is inclusive and is physically, culturally and emotionally safe and free from bullying, violence, harassment and discrimination.
Throughout the week we will be promoting positive change in student learning, achievement and well-being for a safer learning environment as well as increasing awareness of the available tools and resources.
In addition to classroom learning and activities surrounding Bullying Awareness/Prevention, we will:
1. Play positive message music each morning
2. Have daily messages on the school announcements
3. Review the Human Rights Reporting Tool
4. Award colour house points to students who demonstrate kindness and empathy
5. Celebrate Pink Shirt Day Friday
We value kindness and acceptance every week, but this week is a good time to highlight it.
Concussion Protocol
In order to follow the LDSB concussion protocol, and in an abundance of caution, any time a student takes a blow to the head, face or neck, or a blow to the body that transmits a force to the head, we must suspect a concussion, Form 142-1 Tool to Identify a Suspected Concussion will be completed, and parents will be contacted.
If after a bump to the head, if your child exhibits one or more worrisome signs or symptoms, parents will also be asked to complete Form 142-4 Documentation of Medical Examination
indicating that their child is symptom free and able to “return to learn” and then to “return to physical activity,” 24 hours later.
Should your student be diagnosed with a concussion, please alert the school right away, and complete and return the below documents to the school:
Form 142C4 Documentation for a Diagnosed Concussion - Return to Learn/Return to Physical Activity Steps 2a-6 (this is a process and will take time to work through between school and home)
We take suspected concussions/diagnosed concussions very seriously and we appreciate your support in ensuring the safety of your student. Thank you in advance for your understanding.
Looking forward to another great week ahead!

School Trips and Volunteers
Throughout the year, we may ask for parent/guardian volunteers on school trips or for various classroom and school activities. The wait time for obtaining a CPIC (background check with vulnerable sector screening) can be lengthy. As such, if you think you would be willing to assist with a trip or school event in the future, please consider obtaining a CPIC with vulnerable sector screening completed, beforehand.
Bath School Advisory Council
Our fabulous parent council is looking for new members! If you would like to be a part of this great team, please come to our next meeting on Tuesday November 7th at 6:30pm. We are looking forward to meeting in the library. Please let us know if you can make it and if you will require childcare. We are pleased to be able to provide it during the meeting for those who require it.
