Kindergarten Happenings
January 2025
What we've been up to...
We hope you all had a restful and joyful break. We are glad to be back at school and starting off the third quarter strong and ready to make big academic gains.
This month, we will be finishing our alphabet letter study and begin learning "super words." We will be sending home pages to practice the week's super words.
In, math we will be counting, writing, and adding and subtracting numbers within 10.
Upcoming Events
January 6 - Welcome back from Winter Break
January 10 - Report Cards sent home
January 20 - No School Martin Luther King Jr. Day
February 10 and 17 - No School Parent Conference Days Your child's teacher will let you know when the parent teacher conference scheduler is open!
SNOW GEAR
- PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR CHILD HAS APPROPRIATE GEAR FOR 30 MINUTES OUTSIDE IN UP TO -10! We have had several children who do not have appropriate gear for the cold. We don't have a lot of borrow gear. If you need assistance getting warm gear for your child please let Nurse Hannah or your child's teacher know! Also please label all your child's gear with their name to make matching gear to kiddos easier for us!
Things we need....
Our cupboards are starting to look a little empty. We need more wet wipes for washing faces, hands and tables after lunch. We could use more disinfecting wipes to wipe down Chromebooks, shared materials and tables after group work. We are also in need of snacks such as cereal, crackers, pretzels, fruit snacks, etc. If you are able to donate any of these items, please send them in with your child. We appreciate your support. Thank you!
Take Home Folders
Please be checking your child's folder each night as we send home flyers about events, student work and other school information. We hope you are able to get in the routine of reading with your child and working on letters and sounds during the week. Please be marking the days you read or practice on their reading logs. They do get to choose a prize from the prize box each month for returning a signed and completed reading log.
