Back to School

Back-to-school events are starting, and we are so excited to meet all our new students! All of our campuses are hosting back-to-school events and parent information sessions. Make sure to check out the Campus Back-to-School Events page for all the event dates and times so you don't miss them. The first day of school is Monday, Aug. 12. Visit our Back to School page for a variety of useful information related to back-to-school.

NAACP Health and Back-to-School Rally

Garland ISD is partnering with the Garland Unit of the NAACP to host the 21st-annual Health and Back-to-School Rally on August 10, 2024 from 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at Lakeview Centennial High School. Visit the Garland NAACP website to learn more and register for school supplies.

Back-to-School Forms

Student Information Update Forms will open on July 22nd. Parents can log into Skyward Family Access to complete all of the Back-to-School/Student Information Update forms. They are located under the 2024-25 Student Information Update tab. If forms are completed online in Skyward before Tuesday, Aug. 6, middle and high school students will be able to see their schedules as soon as their campus makes them available.

Join a District Committee

Are you interested in helping our district? Get involved on a committee to help make a difference in the lives of our students. We are looking for a diverse group of representatives from all of our district’s municipalities, ethnicities, and genders. Learn more about each opportunity on our Serve on a Committee webpage.

Campus Consolidation

After carefully evaluating recent enrollment and funding trends, the difficult decision has been made to implement a campus consolidation plan for the 2024-25 school year. Consolidating schools is a significant change and not something the district takes lightly. This step, taken after thoughtful consideration, aims to provide the best educational experience for every student. Free Student Health Services Available

All Garland ISD students now have access to same-day doctor visits from school or from home through our partner Hazel Health. Sign up for this free virtual service today!

DFPS Parenting Tips Campaign

The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) is offering a website with free tips and expert advice to help parents. Visit their website GetParentingTips.com or their You Tube channel for parenting tips and advice.

Texas PTA Podcast for Parents

Texas PTA provides a parenting podcast. The podcast is hosted by the Texas PTA President and each episode features special guest.
