Please activate the Raise 365 app on your cellphone and share contacts to help Orchestra/Mariachi fundraise for 2024-25. We want the VERY best for our students in the MRHS Orchestra program and that depends on what we can bring in to fundraise! Great fundraising also means we can reduce the cost or eliminate the cost for various events throughout the school year.

Please contribute, it is YOUR program. It's all about sharing your cellphone contacts.

We are so excited to perform at Minute Maid Park on Tuesday, 9/24! All tickets have been sold.

If you are attending, please make sure you are receiving messages through Cut Time, and on the required Remind for students and parents.

Parents attending the game you are required to sign up for the MLB App with the email you purchased tickets with this week. You MUST have the app to receive the tickets (that is before we distribute them next week). Instructions

Directors will hold student tickets and parents must have the MLB App downloaded for ticket distribution.

We will seat our students and parents separate. If your student wants to sit with you just move freely in our assigned sections and make it happen.

Students performing are required to wear a purple t-shirt (our Orchestra t-shirt if we receive before the game or old orchestra t-shirt) OR Astros jersey/t-shirt, Astros gear, along with jeans and sneakers.

Please support your Orchestra and Mariachi students and purchase a t-shirt or hoodie!!

Upperclassmen should consider GPA exempting the course. Directors have spoken with all students about the importance of GPA exempting Fine Arts and Athletic courses in Katy ISD.

Students can make up all playing quiz and exam grades up until the Wednesday prior to when a report card grade is due. We want your student to learn the skill being tested on!

In addition, if a student is not in school for a playing quiz or exam they are required to video record the assignment and send it to Mr. Katz in his Canvas Inbox. The student will receive an "M" missing grade in the gradebook until the missing assignment is complete.

All information including paperwork, instructions how to pay your Course Fee, Instrument Usage and "Fair Share" Booster Fee are on your Orchestra website!

Dear Mariachi Parents and Students,

We are very excited about this 2024-25 School year with lots of events for Mariachi. We had a great response on our interest meeting reflecting on a fantastic attendance for the first rehearsal of every group this week. We had 20 students showing for Torito!

• Our rehearsals will be on Tuesdays most of the year for specific dates please go to the Morton Ranch Orchestra website.
• Torito will rehearse every Tuesday from 3:00 to 4:00 pm, This group is still receiving any students willing to learn an instrument!
• Luna will rehearse every Tuesday from 4:00 to 5:00 pm
• Junior High combined mariachi will rehearse Mondays from 5:00 to 6:00 pm this coming week we will not have a rehearsal due to labor day.
