Hello West Fork High School Families,

Here are a few things to note regarding the end of the 6 week grading period.

• Last day of the 6 week grading period is this Friday, September 15, 2023.
• Students involved in UIL activities must have a grade of 70 or above in all classes to keep their eligibility.
• Please check grades in Skyward and have your child attend study hall if they have a grade below 70.
• We have communicated this information to students and urged them to check their grades weekly and submit missing assignments or make up work.

Student attendance is one of the most important factors to a student's academic success. Please be sure students are here each day! High school credit is awarded based on a student being in attendance 90% of the time; should a student's attendance rate fall below the 90% rule, they will be required to complete a plan to regain credit.

Food deliveries will not be accepted from anyone that is NOT listed as a guardian or emergency contact in Skyward.

Food delivery services (Doordash, Favor, UberEats, etc) are not permitted during school hours, between 6:45am - 2:50 pm.

The exam exemption policy will be published soon! Here are a few criteria to be aware of in order to be eligible for an exemption. Student must meet these expectations in each individual class they wish to earn an exemption.

• Maintain an 80 average to exempt
• No more than 6 tardies
• 0-3 absences

Students enrolled in EOC classes are not eligible for an exemption during the first semester.

West Fork High School will have our first "Fall Ball". During the week of October 23rd-27th we will have dress up days to promote school spirit, pride, and build connections among our student body. We will wrap up our week with a dance on Friday, October 27th from 7-10 pm. More details regarding the dance will be forthcoming. Attire for the event is semi formal or dressy casual.

Why Fall Ball and not Homecoming?

Homecoming is a long-standing American tradition where colleges and high schools would welcome alumni back to campus usually to a football game. We will host a Fall Ball as our annual tradition until our graduates are able to return for their "homecoming". We are excited about our students, fans, and community members coming together to begin our school’s traditions and history.

West Fork students participate in weekly 7 Mindsets lessons. The first topic was teaching students that "Everything is Possible." This month students will learn about "Passion First". The 7 Mindsets provide a framework for us to focus the “growth” of our brain in the areas that will most benefit our lives.

📧West Fork High School will utilize Skyward and Remind to communicate campus information. Each of these platforms use the email address and/or phone number on file when registration is completed. Staff may use email communication to send grade reports, information about school events, or other communication relative to a class.
