ALL-STATE
We are very excited to share that #PointerNation Gymnast Ally Baehler, a member of the Dodgeville/Mineral Point/Iowa-Grant/Highland Co-op, has received recognition from the Wisconsin High School Gymnastics Association!
-- All-State awards consider each varsity gymnasts' top four scores on each event. Congrats to Ally for earning First Team on Balance Beam!
-- WHSGA also recognizes gymnasts for their academic successes. Gold level honors gymnasts with a GPA of 4.0 or above; Silver 3.75-3.99; and Bronze 3.5-3.74. Congrats to Ally for earning Silver status!

CESA 3 LIT WARS
Last week, our 5th Grade students participated in the CESA 3 Lit Wars in Fennimore. They had the opportunity to read multiple books, become experts on one, and compete against several other schools with questions about their chosen book. Additionally, there was a team competition.
We are excited to share that #PointerNation performed wonderfully! Lottie Gordon, Finn McGuire, and Sally Digman represented our school with Lottie earning first place and Sally securing second place. We are so proud of our readers and their hard work!
We also visited our Mineral Point Public Library for a special behind-the-scenes tour and were able to buy books for our school at the Republic of Letters bookstore.
Thank you for your continued support!

BUDDY TIME
3rd Grade buddies surprised their Kindergarten friends with ABC books they made!
WRITING SCHOLARSHIP
St. Piran's Day was celebrated recently, which honors one of the Patron Saints of Cornwall! Each year, the Southwest Wisconsin Cornish Society graciously awards the Benson Writing Scholarship. Congratulations to this year's winner, Eli Klein! This scholarship provides funds for the student's Mineral Point, WI / Redruth, Cornwall Student Exchange trip. Thank you!
RIVER ADVENTURES
After learning about museums, Liam and Luis were lucky enough to visit the National Mississippi River Museum in Dubuque! We used a MP Community Fund Grant to fund our trip -- thank you! The boys enjoyed looking at the different fish, touching a sting ray, and watching an alligator and otters swim.
MEET ROSIE
Mrs. Dunham's 1st Graders' latest Mystery Reader was Student Teacher Miss Behnke's fiancé, Alex! And the best part, he brought a brand new calf that was born that very morning! The kids decided to call her Rosie.
HIGH SCHOOL READERS
1st Graders were excited to get a reading visit from some high school Seniors!
CAREER FIELD TRIPS
While our Juniors were taking the ACT exam, many of our other high schoolers spent the day on field trips! Thanks for welcoming our students! Shoutout to: Putnam Museum, 3M/Design Homes, Southwest Health, Platteville Incubator, Guy's Truck & Tractor, WCC Brands, and Mound City Bank!

THANK YOU SENIORS
Our Pointers are all heart!
Unfortunately, there will be a new State Champion in Division 4 this year as our #PointerNation Boys Basketball team fell just short 57-54 to La Crosse Aquinas in Thursday's WIAA State Semifinal at the Kohl Center.
We are so incredibly proud of all you've accomplished during your career, and you will always be remembered in Pointer lore as the first boys basketball team to ever be State Champions! A sincere thank you to our Seniors!

THROWBACK THURSDAY
This week's Throwback Thursday #TBT goes back 90 years -- the last time #PointerNation qualified back-to-back teams for the WIAA State Boys Basketball Tournament! Many things have certainly changed from 1934-35 to 2024-25, but our love for the Pointers has not.
As a 1934 Wisconsin State Journal newspaper article stated, "Ardent fans? Mineral Point has more than its share...If Mineral Point gets as far as the championship game, this whole town will just lock up and go to Madison."
Go Big Blue!
