Valley View Newsletter
January 2025
Dear Valley View families,
Welcome back, families! We are very excited to start the second half of the school year. We hope you had a lovely and restful break with all your loved ones. It's been a wonderful first semester with all the support of our families and community. As we start second semester, please be aware that we will be preparing for district assessment windows and state assessments. More information will be sent out as we get closer to these dates. In order to prepare our students for success, it is critical that they are attending school everyday and not missing instructional minutes. Our staff works really hard at supporting our students' needs in academics and social skills. We want to collaborate with families on improving attendance to strengthen these areas. Below you will find some helpful information on attendance. Thank you for all your support in ensuring our students are successful scholars.
Happy New Year!!!
Sincerely,
Dr. Gomez and Mr. Anaya
✨🎊 Happy New Year
THANK YOU!!!
Dear families,
On behalf of Valley View Elementary, I extend my sincere gratitude for your assistance in providing sweaters and toys to families in our community. Your collaboration, combined with the support from Student Services (courtesy of Eny Medina), Norte Vista’s AVID department, the Bicycles for Children program, Alvord Cares, and Valley Views Heartfelt "Adopt a Student" Holiday event, made it possible to bring joy to 59 families through thoughtful presents and gift cards for a holiday meal.
Your commitment to making a positive impact is truly commendable, and we are grateful for the collaborative spirit that defines our community.
Warm regards,
Mrs. Jaime

✅ Attendance 2024-2025
Help Us Improve Our Attendance
As we begin the second half of the 2024-2025 school year, we appreciate your support in bringing students to school everyday on time. We would like to share some of our chronic absenteeism data for the first half of the school year. First, let's define chronic absenteeism.
Chronic Absenteeism: missing 10% or more of school days due to absence for any reason—excused, unexcused absences and suspensions.
There are 180 days of school every year. There have been 88 days of school up to our December break. If your student has missed 8 or more days of school, they are currently chronically absent. To help improve their attendance, let's work together this second half of the school year to get them to school on time and everyday. Below you will see chronic absenteeism data for our school and each grade level. You will also see some infographics on why attendance is important.
Thank you for your collaboration. Please feel free to reach out if you need support on improving your student's attendance.
