Notes from East Hill Elementary
May 17, 2024
Dear East Hill Families,
I hope this message finds you well and enjoying the beautiful spring weather. We had an inspiring week at East Hill, and I am excited to share some highlights with you.
First and foremost, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended our musical concert on Monday evening. The concert featured outstanding performances by our third and fourth-grade chorus, led by Mrs. Causer, our fourth-grade band, directed by Mr. Stachnik, and our fourth-grade orchestra, directed by Mrs. Edele. The students did a wonderful job, and their hard work and dedication truly shone through. It was a joy to see so many families in attendance, supporting our talented young musicians.
This week, our fourth-grade students were treated to a special performance by the "Blues In Our Schools" musicians. It was a fantastic opportunity for them to experience live music and learn about the rich history of blues music. The students thoroughly enjoyed the performance, and it was a memorable experience for all.
On Wednesday evening, many of our incoming kindergarten students and their families visited EH for screening. It was wonderful to have our newest Wildcats in the building. We are excited to welcome them to the East Hill community and look forward to the adventures ahead.
Looking ahead, next week we will begin our universal screening to assess the growth students have made this year. This is an important part of our efforts to ensure that each student is progressing and receiving the support they need to succeed.
As always, thank you for your continued support and involvement in our school community. Together, we can continue to make East Hill Elementary a place where every child thrives.
Love,
~Susan

Students to Receive Free Breakfast and Lunch Meals
We are pleased to announce that all students enrolled at West Genesee CSD will be able to receive a FREE breakfast and lunch meal at school beginning December 1.
This implementation is a result of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) expanding access to the federal Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). CEP allows eligible schools participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs to offer school meals at no charge to all students.
What does this mean for your child(ren) attending the school(s) identified above?
Effective 12/1/2023, all students enrolled at West Genesee CSD will be able to receive one free breakfast and one free lunch each school day regardless of the familyโs household income. Milk is free with a full meal. No further action is required of you.
If you have any further questions, please contact Food Service at 315-487-4661.
