Principal's Message
Below you will find our Husky PBIS Expectations for students when they are here on campus and ways they can be Respectful, Responsible, and Safe. As our core values, our goal is to instill these into our students so they can use them at home or when they move on to other grades and in the community. If you have any questions or feedback, please reach out.
SARC Parent Notification
The School Accountability Report Card (SARC) provides parents and the community with important information about each public school. If you have questions regarding Lodi Unified’s SARCs or would like to receive a printed copy of a particular school, please contact Accounting at (209) 331-7141. Crosswalk Safety
In order to continue keeping our Oakwood students, staff, and families safe before school at drop off and after school at dismissal, we are asking our community to follow all California laws pertaining to our crosswalk. Please see before for reminders.
California law requires drivers to yield to pedestrians at all crosswalks, including those near schools. Drivers should be especially careful in school zones, where children may not be aware of traffic.
Laws for school crosswalks
- California Vehicle Code (CVC) 21950: Requires drivers to yield to pedestrians at all crosswalks, including those near schools
- CVC 21368: Covers marked pedestrian crosswalks near school buildings
- Daylighting law: Prohibits parking within 20 ft of any marked or unmarked crosswalk
Other safety tips for school crosswalks:
- Drivers should be prepared for sudden stops and avoid distractions
- Drivers should slow down and yield to pedestrians at crosswalks
- Drivers should look for pedestrians and be prepared to stop, whether or not the crosswalk has flashing lights
