The Cedar Hill High School Baseball Team defeated Mansfield Lake Ridge, 4-2 in the regular season finale, on Saturday in Kennedale for head coach Travis Collins' 400th career win.

The game was rescheduled and moved to Kennedale due to weather issues on Friday night.

With the victory, Cedar Hill (14-12-1, 5-9) earned its first overall winning record since 2019.

The Longhorns earned wins against three of the four District 6A-11 team to qualify for the playoffs (Waxahachie, Mansfield Lake Ridge and Mansfield Legacy).

The Longhorns went 4-3 in road district games this season.

Cedar Hill will definitely compete for a playoff spot in 2025. The Longhorns finished 5-9 in district but lost four of those games by two runs or less, including a 2-1 loss to 6A-11 Champion, Mansfield.

Cedar Hill High School senior Krystan Bright qualified for the UIL Class 6A Track & Field Championships in the Girls 300 Meter Hurdles this Saturday in Austin.

The UT Rio Grande Valley signee won the 300 Hurdles Gold Medal (42.09) at the Regional Meet on Aril 20 in Waco, defeating second-place Lillian Harden (Cypress Bridgeland), by .32 seconds.

Bright, who will graduate from Cedar Hill High School's Early College Academy (ECA) next month, enters the meet with the fastest time in Class 6A (and second fastest time in the state).

Bright ranks in the Top 10 percent of the Class of 2024. She has accepted a full athletic scholarship to UT Rio Grande Valley in Edinburg, Texas.

Cedar Hill High School Spring Football begins last week and will culminate with the Spring Game on Thursday, May 23. The Longhorns will open the 2024 season on August 30 at Midlothian.
