Highlights from the Week
Final Spins
Students took their final prize spins for meeting family fundraising goals. THANK YOU to everyone who participated in this year's Feed the Need Service Project!
Spelling Bee Excellence
Career Presentations
8th grade students in Mrs. Griffin's Career Prep class showcased their research findings by presenting to their peers about their dream career. This exercise was a great way for the students to explore interests and build communication skills.
Breakfast with the Principal
Several students cashed in their "Breakfast with the Principal" prize this week.
The Life of Jesus through the Eyes of a Soldier
In a special chapel service for 4th-12th grade, students got to watch a live performance of The Scribe. The Scribe is a dramatic, musical presentation of the life of Christ as seen through the eyes of a Roman centurion soldier. It is played by a Hollywood actor, sung by a Nashville recording artist and a New York Broadway entertainer, Dr. Paul Pitts.
Guest Speaker
Sometimes students have a hard time imagining life after finishing school and all the different career opportunities available. This week upper school students got to hear first hand from Mr. Justin Ayers about his career and technical experiences.
Highlighting the Reason for the Season
WOW! The CCS Christmas Parade float was AMAZING! The larger than life, beautiful depiction of the birth of Jesus was a showstopper. Thank you so much to Mr. and Mrs. Brooks who made the float and to the parents who helped with the parade.
Youth Basketball & Cheer Fun
The youth basketball and cheer teams are continuing to do a fantastic job this season! This week games were held at Good Hope Primary. Next week games will be at the Cullman Basketball Complex.
Extra Work
Some of the JV and Varsity basketball players got in some extra work on Saturday night after the SEC championship game. We are proud of them for their hard work and dedication, but also very proud that spending time together at school is something they enjoy... even on a Saturday night!
10,000 Meals Packed, Prayed Over, and Sent to Ministry Partners
FEED THE NEED: School Wide Service Project
On Tuesday, November 21st, CCS students packed 10,000 meals that will be placed in the hands of missionary partners in Bangladesh where they will share the love of Christ and share the gospel to refugees. We are so thankful for this opportunity to help our students learn how to love and serve others.
Although we did not meet our school goal before the packing party, there is still time to give for this wonderful project. Donate today at https://p2p.onecause.com/ccsftn
DECEMBER BIBLE READING INVITATION
December is already here and Christmas will be here before we know it!
This year, and every year, we want to remember the real reason for the holiday. The birth, life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ impacted the world forever!
During the month of December, we invite and encourage your family to spend some time reading Luke's account of the life of Jesus by reading one chapter each day of December leading up to Christmas day. There are 24 chapters in the book of Luke. Reading one each day will put you at the end just in time for Christmas. (Although today is December 3rd, it will be easy to catch up!)
This family activity will take you all the way from the foretold birth of John the Baptist (Chapter 1), through the birth and life of Jesus, and ultimately to the resurrection of our Lord (Chapter 24). When you finish, Christmas and its meaning will be sure to bring you true joy as you celebrate Jesus.
GIVE HOPE CHRISTMAS MINISTRY
We, as a school, have decided to partner with Desperation Church in their Give Hope Christmas Ministry. They set up an area where parents of sponsored children can come in and select 5 items for each of their children for Christmas. Each parent and child receives a Bible and the gospel is shared with every parent prior to the gift selection. We want our students to understand the true meaning of Christmas and what it means to share the love of Jesus with others. Our upper school students will help serve with DC in the set up of the event on Thursday and Friday of next week.
Instead of doing a class gift swap, each student is asked to buy a $15 (or more) gift for a child of their age and gender (EX. 2nd grade boy, age 8 would buy a gift for an 8 year old boy). This gift should be a new, unwrapped toy. The item can NOT be a book (a bible is the only book received because there is not enough time to verify the nature of every book) or electronic device (such as phones, laptops, video systems, mp3 players, etc.). Please use your discretion and make sure that the gift is appropriate and Christ-honoring. Please place a tag on the gift with age and gender.
All gifts should be brought to school by Wednesday, December 6. We will place all gifts on the stage for morning devotion and we will pray over them and the children that will receive them. Our prayer is that this Christmas a child will not only receive a material gift but the gift of salvation.
A list of suggested gift items by age group is attached. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out. We also ask that you begin praying for the families that will come through the Give Hope ministry. Pray for their families, their situations and most of all for their salvation! May God richly bless you and your families this Christmas season!

CCS Chorus & Theatre Presentation - December 8th and 9th
Mark your calendar to join us for fun, laughs, and a great performance by the CCS Chorus and Theatre students as they present "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" on December 8th and 9th.
The Best Christmas Pageant Ever: The Musical is the story of the Herdmans, who are the worst kids in the history of the world. They lie, they steal, they bully other kids, and they smoke smelly cigars. There used to be only one place where you’d never see them—church. This all changes when Charlie Bradley brags that his Sunday school offers free snacks. All six of the Herdmans show up at church in search of pizza, cookies and Hawaiian Punch, and end up in the Christmas pageant. Charlie’s mom, Grace, is the novice director, who not only casts them in the show but, much to the dismay of the other kids, let’s them play all the leads. Grace instantly finds herself caught between two forces of nature—the Herdmans and Helen Armstrong, who speaks for all of the outraged citizens of the town. Grace has two choices: get rid of the Herdmans, or let them stay and risk being blamed for the worst pageant in the history of the world.
(Based on the best-selling book and play, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever by Barbara Robinson)
