HUMBLE ISD MARCHING BAND FESTIVAL, SEPT 28
Humble ISD will once again host the annual High School Marching Band Festival on Saturday, September 28, at Turner Stadium. The festival will feature all five Humble ISD high school marching bands. The festival serves as the first contest performance of the year for most of these bands as they prepare for their upcoming UIL marching competition on October 19. Parking and admission are free.
The schedule for Saturday's festival will be:
9 a.m. Kingwood Park High School
9:20 a.m. Humble High School
9:40 a.m. Atascocita High School
10 a.m. Kingwood High School
10:20 a.m. Summer Creek High School
NATIONAL NIGHT OUT, OCT 1
The Humble ISD Police Department invites families to an interactive evening full of fun, engaging activities for the community! National Night Out is from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 1, at the Humble ISD Police Department at 1911 Wilson Road in Humble. There will be Police Department tours, vehicle tours, face painting, food trucks, and bingo. HUMBLE ISD COLLEGE NIGHT, OCT 1
Humble ISD College Night 2024, sponsored by the City of Humble, is from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 1, at the Humble Civic Center, located at 8233 Will Clayton Parkway.
Meet with College, Trade School & U.S. Military representatives and learn about programs & scholarship opportunities. No registration required. Join us for this FREE event!

FUTURE STARLETTE DANCE CLINIC, SEPT 28
Come join the Summer Creek Starlettes for a youth dance clinic for ages 5 to 15 from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, September 28 at Summer Creek High school. Clinic participants will be part of the halftime performance at the October 4 football game at Turner Stadium. Presale cost is $50 for each participant and includes a snack, shirt and game ticket for performer.
KINGWOOD FILLIE DANCE CLINIC, SEPT 28
Come join the award-winning Kingwood Fillies for a fun day of dance from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, September 28, at Kingwood High school. Registration for each participant includes lunch, one snack item, and a clinic t-shirt. Register online at kingwoodfillies.net by September 18 to guarantee t-shirt size.
HHS THEATRE PRESENTS THE SERVANT OF TWO MASTERS, SEPT 27, 28
Humble Wildcat Theatre presents The Servant of Two Masters September 26 through 28 at the HHS PAC. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students, and can be purchased at www.hhstheatre.com.

HUMBLE ISD ASK AN EXPERT PODCAST - AEROSCIENCE
Humble ISD high school students have the opportunity to explore aeroscience engineering. In episode 24 of Ask an Expert, Kingwood Park High School Aeroscience teacher Glenn Taylor discusses how students design and build their own rockets for missions, inspiring many to pursue degrees in aeroscience and aerospace engineering.

ROTARY YOUTH EXCHANGE INFORMATION MEETINGS
Adventurous? Curious about other cultures? Interested in serving as a Rotary Youth Exchange Ambassador? The Lake Houston Area Rotary Club is hosting several Rotary Youth Exchange (RYE) information evening meetings for students, parents, and any interested teachers.

HUMBLE ISD BOWLING TEAM TRYOUTS
Interested in Bowling? Humble ISD high school students are invited to tryout for an Humble ISD Bowling Team at Max Bowl in Humble. No prior experience is needed. This opportunity is open to all high school students in the district.

BOO AT THE BARN, OCT 5
AHS, HHS & SCHS FFA presents Boo at the Barn from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, October 5, at the South Ag Barn behind Turner Stadium, 1700 Wilson Road in Humble. Admission is a canned food item. Just a few spots left! CompTIA IT Fundamentals certification training put on by Scott Ford, M.Ed. will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., October 7 through 11, at the Humble ISD Instructional Support Center (Room 1011 & Room 1012), 4810 Magnolia Cove Dr. in Kingwood. This free 5-day training is open to ALL Humble ISD high school and middle school students, staff, parents and community members.
FUTURE PATRIETTE YOUTH DANCE CLINIC, OCT 12
Come join the Atascocita Patriettes for a youth dance clinic for grades K-8 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 12, at Atascocita High School. Participants will be part of the halftime performance at the October 25 AHS football game at Turner Stadium. Register by October 5 to receive a free t-shirt and poms.
RESTART A HEART DAY, OCT 16
Humble ISD Health Services invites you to learn the basics of hands-only CPR! There will be two opportunities to learn on Wednesday, October 16, as part of World Restart a Heart Day. Join the Health Services department for a day session from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Board, Business and Technology Center, 20200 Eastway Village in Humble. Come join the Humble Wildcatdets for a youth dance clinic for ages 4 to 13 from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, October 19, at Humble High school. Clinic participants will be part of the halftime performance at the October 26 HHS vs SCHS football game. Registration is $50 for each participant and includes performance shirt, pizza, a drink and participant entry to the game.
SILVER STAR YOUTH DANCE CLINIC, OCT 19
Come join the award-winning Kingwood Park Silver Stars for a youth dance clinic for ages 4 to 14 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 19, at Kingwood Park High school. Clinic participants will be part of the halftime performance at the October 24 varsity football game. Registration includes shirt, photo with mascot and participant entry to the game.
ZOMBIE FUN RUN 2024, OCT 19
The Atascocita High School Marine Corps JROTC Program is proud to host the 11th Annual AHS Zombie 5K Fun Run on Saturday, October 19. The first heat starts at 9 a.m. Register by October 6 to get a race t-shirt! Register for the Zombie Fun Run
VAPING PREVENTION & AWARENESS
Tuesday, October 29: WEBINAR Join the Counseling & Behavioral Service Department for an informative session with Joshua Webb, Manager at Safe Community Institute-Crimestoppers. There are many myths teens believe about the safety of using vape products, and each year more teens report trying vaping at least once. During this presentation, you'll uncover and learn the common myths, the chemicals used in vapes, and explore the stress of peer pressure. Additionally, participants will learn how vaping can impact their health, learn some refusal skills and gain tips on how to quit.
HISPANIC HERITAGE ESSAY CONTEST, OCT 31
In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, Univision Foundation and Optimum invite middle and high school students to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month through their 17th Annual Hispanic Heritage Essay Contest.
Four grand prize winners will be announced across the Optimum service areas in the U.S. and will be awarded a $3,000 cash scholarship. Twelve finalists will be awarded an iPad. Teachers who sponsor the most entries will receive a $500 gift card of their choice as a special prize. Essays must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. EST on Thursday, October 31. INSPIRING MOMENTS: CONVOCATION 2024
Hurricane Beryl threw a wrench into our schedules, which meant Humble ISD had to rethink our plans for Convocation. Humble ISD decided to postpone it for a few weeks and host sessions at each campus instead and Convocation 2024 was a fantastic success! In September's “Inspiring Moment,” we take a look at Convocation on the road! Watch this month's Inspiring Moments performance.
