CMIT Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month!
On Friday, students celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month with an assembly full of dancing, history, and fun! Our student performers described the history and origins of Hispanic Heritage Month while giving the students an opportunity to win prizes for answering trivia questions. The student body learned about the beautiful tradition of the Quinciñera and were intrigued by Hispanic urban legends. A highlight of the assembly was the performance by CMIT's own dancers. The performers did a wonderful job of dancing in the styles of Bachata, Zapateo, and Cumbia. A special shout out goes to Ms. Castillo and Mrs. Elliott-Joseph who worked with the student body to make this assembly a success. Thanks to all of our hispanic Heritage Month assembly participants!
Save the date - PSAT 8/9
The PSAT 8/9 test administration will be on Wednesday, October 23rd in the morning (period 1 through period 4). The PSAT 8/9 digital readiness check will be on Wednesday, October 16 during 1st period. Please make sure that your scholar is present at school and on-time for both dates.
The readiness check includes an exam setup process required to begin testing. During the readiness check, students will enter their information including their personal professional email address that was used to create their college board account. Missing the readiness check may cause a delay in your scholar starting the PSAT 8/9 test at the scheduled start time on test day.
Please see the school newsletter for resources to prepare for the upcoming test. It the responsibility of you and your scholar to review the testing rules to ensure that their test will not be invalidated. Additionally, please review the approved calculator list. Calculators are optional as there is a calculator built in the test for every math test question.
Students will be required to wear their uniform on testing day. Although students may wear their CMIT hooded sweatshirt to school, they are not permitted to wear the hood indoors (CMIT uniform policy) and not allowed to wear the hood during testing (College Board policy). Wearing a hood or brimmed hat is a testing violation that will lead to test scores being invalidated. Thanks for your cooperation in this process.
