Mississippi PTO Needs You! 6:30-7:30
We are looking forward to a great 2024-2025 school year! We will be kicking off the school year on Thursday, September 19th with our first PTO meeting. We are excited to meet new families and share all the great things we do as a parent organization. We are also looking for more parents to get involved in our great organization and will share opportunities available in the coming weeks. Childcare will be provided!
Cell Phones & Smart Watches Reminder
It is the school's expectation that cell phones remain in backpacks throughout the day, including while on the bus. If a student brings a device to school and it becomes a distraction to their learning or the learning of others or if it impacts the privacy or security of others then the following will occur:
- a parent/guardian will be notified
- the device may be held in the main office until the end of the day
If you need to communicate with your child during the school day you should contact the main office 763.506.3500.
Arrival and Dismissal Reminders
Arrival
Please note there are no staff members to supervise children prior to 8:45 am. Therefore, students should NOT arrive at school or be dropped off at school prior to this time. Walkers, bikers and car riders can arrive between 8:45-9:00. Students may go directly to the cafe if they want breakfast, otherwise they should go directly to their classroom.
Dissmissal
Dismissal begins at 3:30 and can take approximately 10-15 minutes (longer the first two weeks).
Walkers: Students will be dismissed at 3:30 and may exit the door closest to their route home.
Bus riders: Students will be walked to their bus by a patrol and/or staff member.
Car riders: Drivers should stay in the car. Students will be escorted to door 4 by a staff member or patrol. They will stand on the yellow line in grade level order and wait for their car to pull forward in line.
Adventures Plus: Staff or patrols will escort students to A+ at the end of the day.
First Week Fun!
Otter Fun Run October 3rd!
We're excited to introduce this year's main fundraiser, the Otter Fun Run. Our goal this year is to raise $17,000 for Field Trips, School Shirts, Teacher Appreciation, & School-wide Events to benefit ALL students at Mississippi Elementary PTO.
We’re excited for this fundraising experience because it offers 3 important things to our school community:
1️⃣ User-friendly fundraising platform
2️⃣ Character enrichment program
3️⃣ Fitness-focused event that includes ALL of our students
As a family, you will work together asking friends and family to donate on your student’s Donation Page at MyBooster.com. The best part is, you can still support our school just by SHARING about the fundraiser!
Students will also experience an amazing character enrichment program called “Castle Quest”, teaching students about how to be brave and live with character.
