Greetings BES families!

Twelve fourth and fifth grade student council members were selected to attend the CAS Elementary Leadership Conference at Western CT State University. The conference began with skits highlighting the effects of negative behavior and how we prepare ourselves as leaders to be upstanders in these situations. Our students then attended three sessions with students from other schools where they learned various leadership skills such as productive thinking, teamwork, decision making, building good habits and communication. Our students enjoyed going to "college" for a day; meeting and interacting with kids from all across the state. Our fourth and fifth graders enjoyed their time at the conference, and can use their newly learned strategies to help our BES community. Picture above left.
