Welcome To Week #26
Diamond Bar High School and the Walnut Valley Unified School District are proud to recognize Black History Month as we continue to provide our organization with resources to celebrate diversity while building equitable and inclusive practices for our community.
Dear Brahma Family,
The WVUSD Cornerstone Awards celebrate the exceptional contributions of our classified employees. Earlier in February, at this year’s annual Cornerstone Awards Ceremony, we were proud to see our very own Teresa Burton, the July Cornerstone Award winner, honored as the District's Classified Employee of the Year.
Teresa is a joy to work with in our Finance Office. Teresa’s attention to detail, combined with her empathy and understanding, allows teachers, club and class advisors, program directors, and coaches to focus on what matters most—our students. She demonstrates incredible patience with students too, taking the time to guide and train them on how to navigate finance office processes. A commitment to kindness and support that is also extended to our parents and parent organizations.
Congratulations Teresa Burton, the WVUSD Classified Employee of the Year!
Our annual Open House will take place on Thursday, February 27, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Amphitheater (the open area next to the gym on the west side of campus). Here, families will have the chance to connect with DBHS staff, school and district administrators, and our Mag 7 Parent groups while enjoying live performances by our Commercial Music students and a preview of our Spring Musical. Food will be available for purchase from vendors and food trucks to kick off the evening!
At 7:00 p.m., we will open showcase areas across campus, where families can meet our teachers, explore programs, and see our students in action.
Whether you are a current Brahma family or a prospective one, we invite you to join us for a night filled with learning and engagement.
For any questions, please contact Dr. Nicolle Flores (nflores@wvusd.org), our Open House Coordinator.
We look forward to welcoming you on Thursday, February 27, at 6:30 p.m. See you there!
I hope everyone has a fantastic week!
Have a great week!
Sincerely,
David Hong
Principal

DBHS's Teresa Burton WVUSD Classified Employee of the Year
February 13, our District hosted its Annual Cornerstone Awards Night! In 1999, our Personnel Commission established the perpetual Cornerstone Award to recognize classified employees for the pivotal role they play in our District.
Each of the exemplary Cornerstone honorees was selected for going the “extra mile” to support our students, teachers, and schools. They are truly the “Cornerstone” in Walnut Valley! Our 12 honorees were honored by our Personnel Commission and School Board. At the end of the night, Chairperson, Ray McMullen, honored Diamond Bar High Accounting Assistant II, Teresa Burton, as our Classified Employee of the Year! Congratulations!
