UMS Science Fair Volunteer Request
The UMS Science Department is proud to announce the UMS Science Fair on Wednesday, February 26th!
We need volunteers to judge projects and interview students from 10:00-1:00 that day. If you are interested in becoming a science fair judge, please fill out the form at tinyurl.com/umsjudge. You’ll get an email from Ashley Oland that will provide more information.
Students will be getting application information in their science classes this week, but will be due February 13, 2025. Please direct any questions to Ashley Oland, ashley.oland@fcps.org.
SGA attends Winter Leadership Conference
This year our SGA Sent Seven members to Winter Leadership conference at Walter Johnson High School in Montgomery County. All students learned the process of how bills become laws as well as proper discourse during a legislative assembly. Three of our Students Ethan Xu, Ronith Girish and Kanish Agrawal all presented sessions on the importance of SMOB at the State Level.

UMS wants to congratulation Shaun Hayes for being one of two 1st place winners in a poster contest titled Black History is American History hosted by FTCA! His artwork will be printed on posters and you can also see it on social media for FCTA is @myfcta on Facebook, Instagram and X. Shaun’s artwork will be featured during the month of February.

The UMS Science Fair will be during the day on February 26th, 2025. Students who would like to participate should read and fill out tinyurl.com/umsfair. Applications are due on February 13th. Please email ashley.oland@fcps.org for questions.
