The 2024-2025 yearbook is now on sale! Order before October 31st to receive 10% off your order! The yearbook committee can use your help! If you have any pictures from the First Day of School, APEX Run or the Country Fair please upload them to the Treering site.

Principal's Message

Dear Garden Road Families,

This week, the students had so much fun with our APEX fun run! The weather cooperated and all grades were able to participate! To date, our school has raised $40,000! We appreciate all of the generous donations which will benefit programs like art and music at Garden Road Elementary School!

Tuesday, October 8, is a Minimum Day with Dismissal at 11:45 am

Please mark your calendars! We have a minimum day on Tuesday, October 8. All grades will be dismissed at 11:45 am. Please make a plan to pick up your children on time. Our staff is entering a professional development meeting after school and we want all staff to be able to attend.

Crossing Guard Position Open

Garden Road Elementary School needs a crossing guard! The position is now open for hiring! If you know of a community member who would like to ensure the safety of our students and be a part of Garden Road Elementary School, please share the flier below with them! Library News

As leaves change color and farms fill up with apples and pumpkins, cities across the northern hemisphere embrace the fall season with harvest festivals.

The upper graders learned about many such festivals worldwide, including Dia de los Muertos, Diwali, Chinese Moon Festival, Thai Lantern Festival, Octoberfest, and Sukkot.

The younger grades read a beautiful book, The legend of Spookley the Square Pumpkin, which delivers a special message of tolerance and kindness that is just right for fall . . . and any time of year!

We can also celebrate locally by going to the 2024 Poway Fall Festival on Sunday, October 6, 2024, from 10:00 am-5:00 pm, on Midland Road, between Poway Rd & Hilleary Pl.

Enjoy hundreds of vendors, food trucks, kids' activities, live music, a classic car show, a beer & wine garden, and much more at the Poway Fall Festival.

Also, next week is GRES Book Fair in the library! Please check your teacher's note on when your kids are attending. They will still be returning their library books and checking out new ones during their book-fair visit.
