Principal Kraemer's Notes
January
Home of the Rabbits!
Mission: At Rabbit Creek, we strive to create a safe and inclusive environment that fosters high levels of academic and social emotional standards to prepare all students for success and future challenges.
Vision: We create and provide rigorous academic and social emotional practices that engage and motivate our individual learners.
Land Acknowledgement: We acknowledge that our school is on the traditional lands of the Dena'ina People of Upper Cook Inlet. For thousands of years, the Dena'ina People have continued to be the stewards of this land. ASD is committed to diversity and inclusion, and it is with honor and respect that we recognize all Indigenous people who live and learn in our community.
Dear Rabbit Creek Families,
Happy New Year! I hope you enjoyed the last two weeks of break. Though I had a great time with my family, I missed the Rabbit Creek community and I am ready to get back into the swing of things. I want to thank those who took the time to fill out the mid-year parent feedback survey. Results will be shared with our leadership team and PTA and used to guide further decisions for our school. There is still time for you to take the survey if you would like to provide us with feedback. Feedback will be collected until January 12th.
As we enter the new year, staff will begin recognizing students who are providing examples of what it means to be a rockstar rabbit. As a part of our effort to provide more meaningful social emotional learning to our students, our leadership team has chosen character traits that are essential for students' success. These traits will be focused on one at a time and will change every two weeks. These character traits will be highlighted in our morning announcements and within every classroom. At the end of each week, students who show a great understanding for the week's word will be recognized on the morning announcements. This month our focus words are: optimism (1/6 - 1/17) and integrity (1/20 - 1/31).
If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to reach out to me.
Kind Regards,
Angela Kraemer

A Few Reminders
i-Ready Diagnostic
The i-Ready math diagnostic is given to students K-5 three times a year. Our students will be taking this diagnostic when they return from winter break. It is a short assessment that will be completed during our designated WIN time during the week of January 6th-10th.
Arrival and Dismissal
Let's start the new year on a safe note! Please remember if you are in the car line students should be exiting/entering cars on the curb side. Drivers should remain in the car. If you choose to walk your student into the building, please make sure you wait for the crossing guard (when present) to help you cross.
