This will be the last weekly newsletter until we gear up for the first day of school!
We will start sending out Back to School information in July! We hope you have an excellent Summer Break!
Dear ChurchillCSD Families & Staff,
With the final bell of the school year approaching, I want to take a moment to reflect on the journey we've shared together in Churchill County School District. This year has been filled with growth, learning, and countless moments of achievement, both big and small.
Our students have demonstrated incredible resilience and dedication, embracing new challenges and expanding their horizons in classrooms, on stages, and on playing fields. From engaging in thought-provoking discussions to showcasing their talents and achieving personal bests in many of their endeavors, their commitment has been truly inspiring.
Our dedicated teachers and staff have once again gone above and beyond, fostering a supportive and enriching learning environment. Their passion for education and commitment to our students are the cornerstone of our district's success.
And to our parents and guardians, thank you for your continued partnership and support. Your involvement, encouragement, and collaboration are invaluable to the success of our students and the strength of our school community.
As summer approaches, I encourage our students to embrace the opportunities for rest, exploration, and continued learning. Whether it's diving into a good book, exploring the wonders of our community, spending quality time with family and friends, or pursuing a new hobby, summer offers a unique chance to recharge and discover new passions. Remember that learning doesn't stop when school is out – every experience can be a chance to grow! #AlwaysLearning
Looking ahead to the next school year, we are filled with anticipation for the new possibilities and adventures that await. We remain committed to providing high-quality learning pathways that empower every student to reach their full potential. We will continue to focus on fostering a supportive learning environment where all students feel valued, challenged, and inspired.
Thank you once again for a wonderful school year. I wish you all a safe, healthy, and enjoyable summer break. We eagerly look forward to welcoming you back in the fall, ready to embark on another year of learning and growth together!
Sincerely,
Derild Parsons
Superintendent, Churchill County School District

Transportation Registration for the 25-26 School Year! 🚌
Now Accepting Applications!
As the 24-25 school year ends, ChurchillCSD is excited to announce we are now accepting transportation applications for the 25-26 school year.
Any ChurchillCSD family intending to use district transportation for the 25-26 school year must fill out an application at: bit.ly/CCSDTransportationRequest25-26
The district will follow current Regulation 5144.1 for all transportation decisions, which includes busing for all COUNTY K-12 students. Students in grades K-8 who live within City limits, and are more than ½ mile from their school, can use bus stops at pre-selected sites.
We also highly encourage all of our families to download the StopFinder app. This app will provide real-time information to parents and school transportation departments. Your child’s safety is paramount. And knowledge – and information – is power. We know that having the most current information is critical. We also all know that schedules and plans change for any number of reasons. But receiving timely updates is crucial for you - which is why we are thrilled to offer Stopfinder to our families again this year.
If you have any questions regarding the transportation application for the 25-26 school year or the Stopfinder app, please email stopfinder@churchillcsd.com.

Kennday is currently fighting Lupus, Kidney Disease, and is undergoing Chemotherapy. Though she’s unable to attend school right now, she remains a warrior, facing her challenges with incredible strength and courage.
On Tuesday afternoon at 1:15 PM, Kennday and her mom will be driving by the school. We’ll gather outside to cheer her on and show her just how much her CCMS family is rooting for her.
Thank you for helping us make this a meaningful and memorable moment for Kennday. Let’s fill the school with pink, purple, and love!

📝 Message from Assistant Superintendent Stacey Cooper
I am not a person who is fond of farewell statements. In every aspect of my life, I have refrained from saying goodbye, simply because "goodbye" seems permanent. My two years here in Churchill as the assistant superintendent have been cherished and heartfelt. I have told many colleagues I am not leaving the community. I have property here in Churchill, and I have no desire to move away from the community I love. This opportunity is simply a "step" forward to another adventure on my professional journey. I still hold ChurchillCSD close to my heart, as a foundational piece of my being.
So--dear friends and colleagues-- this is NOT a goodbye. I will see you. You are all a part of my life. Thank you for inspiring me, leading me, and encouraging me to be the best leader possible for our students, families and community.
I will see you again soon! Go Greenwave!
Stacey

💛🐶 E.C. Best Elementary School
Written by Principal Brad Barton
This year at E.C. Best, our students have been learning to follow our school-wide expectations of being safe, kind, responsible, and respectful. On Thursday, I observed our students demonstrate enormous respect for Officer Tristan Redmond and his family as the convoy of service members in our community escorted them through town. Our students showed reverence and empathy as they stood by the fence and watched the procession pass by our school. This was a proud moment for me as a Principal, and I want to thank my students, my staff, and all their families for being such good examples.
