A Note from Mrs. Mitchell...
This weekend I'm ditching our state's "choose your own weather adventure" and heading to Louisville, KY. My mission? to unleash my inner banshee at my daughter's volleyball tournament. Yes, I am that parent. My sideline performance will feature: loud cheering, emotional flare-ups, and a nail biting masterclass.
Perhaps you can relate to my behavior. Or, if you can't, you've encountered someone like me along your parenting journey. I recently came across the attached meme, and my initial reaction was to point the finger at all those other parents. You know, the ones who are clearly cheering for my daughter to face plant into the net? But, let's be real. The meme is spot on, and I'm most likely the inspiration behind it.
Sports parents are a special breed. We're passionate, we're loud, and we have a unique ability to annoy a lot of people at one time. If your weekend plans include cheering for youth sports, I wish you the best and hope you don't get thrown out of the game...unless you're playing my daughter's team.
Ps. Please take the 5Essentials Parent Survey! More information below!

5Essentials Parent Survey
Parents across Illinois once again have the opportunity to participate in the annual statewide Illinois 5Essentials Survey. This survey is designed to generate a detailed picture of our school as it relates to the important elements of school effectiveness.
Your feedback is truly important to us! The state will only provide results for individual schools if a school has at least 20% parent participation. Please help us out!
To take the short survey:
1. Visit the 5Essentials Survey Link
2. Type and select "Dupage" as "County."
3. Type your school's name into the "school" field and select Gordon Gregory Middle School.
The survey will be open through March 28, 2025
