A Look Back at December 2023

December just might be the most exciting month during the school year. Let's have a look back at what happened in December at 224Q.

In December, Smile New York came to 224. The Smile New York program visits kids in the familiar surroundings of their schools, bringing dental care to kids who may not otherwise have access.

On December 12th we did a school wide Zoom meeting. We read the book...... After the reading, parents and students designed their patch for our giant quilt.

During the week of December 18th through the 22nd, P224Q participated in Holiday Spirit Week. Students and staff got to dress in some pretty outrageous outfits. Monday was Winter Colors Day, Tuesday was Winter Mismatched Socks, Wednesday was Seasonal Sweater Day, Thursday was Favorite Character T-shirt Day and Friday was the popular Pajama Day. On December 13th, class V60 from 186Q and class cc from 26 got to go on a special field trip to the JFK airport. The special event is called Operation Santa. Operation Santa welcomes over 4000 children to JFK International Airport to take part in a day filled with fun and seasonal activities.

December 21st was our Parents Day in the Classroom. Parents got the opportunity to do a lesson or project with their kids. Some classes made gingerbread houses while other classes prepared holiday cards.
