Can you believe we only have two months of school left? These two months will fly by, especially for our high school senior students with prom and graduation around the corner. The best practice is to work ahead and even finish your coursework early. In the end, you will have more time for the things you enjoy without any added pressure.

Lastly, Kanawha County Schools will be implementing a summer academy again for all grade levels for families or students wanting to enrich, strengthen, and increase academic achievement. More details can be found below if you are interested.

The Kanawha County Schools Summer Academy offers free academic support and social enrichment from June 10 – June 28, 2024, 8 a.m.–2 p.m. This program is available to any KCS student currently in Kindergarten-12th grade (for the 2023-2024 school year). Along with our in-person tutoring sessions, KCS Virtual students can also utilize TutorWV, which offers free, live tutoring for library patrons from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., plus access to test prep and a drop-off service. Click the link below for more information.

The Golden Horseshoe Online Exam will be given in Kanawha County on Tuesday, April 9th. WVDE Policy 2510 requires the administration of this exam to all West Virginia 8th grade students. For this reason, it is a requirement for students who wish to remain in the KCS Virtual Program.

All 11th grade students will be required to go to their school of record in person to take the digital SAT. If a student chooses not to test, this student will not be permitted to remain in Virtual the following semester. See your email/Schoology messages for specific details such as arrival times.
