We are thankful for you!
As we prepare to take time off from school Wednesday, November 27th - Friday, November 29th for the Thanksgiving break, we are grateful for everyone who has helped to restore a routine for showing up to school while supporting students and families.
Daily routines are essential for reducing stress and creating a sense of security for students and adults.
Please take steps to keep your child healthy and send them to school unless they are truly sick. Every day of school is an important opportunity for students to learn as well as connect to peers and their teachers.
We thank:
· Our students and their families who do their best to show up to class every day even when it isn’t easy.
· Our teachers who have gone above and beyond to help make school a welcoming learning environment where students can thrive.
· Our administrators who help us work together to ensure we are healthy and safe, feel a sense of community and experience the excitement of an engaging learning environment.
· Our many, many healers and helpers - the support staff and community volunteers who provide the extra hands and attention our children need.
May these days off be restful and healing.
● If your family or your child needs support, please reach out to us.
● We look forward to seeing you again when school resumes on Monday, December 2nd.
Thank you for partnering with us!

Irmo Chapin Chamber of Commerce Student & Teacher of the Month
A big congratulations to the Irmo Chamber of Commerce Teacher and Student of the Month for November from H. E. Corley Elementary School, April Session and Karissa Scarborough.
H. E. Corley Elementary School Principal Melanie Harris said, "April Session is our Teacher of the Year and our music teacher. We celebrate her as an exceptional teacher and a true asset to our school community. She uses her remarkable gift of her voice and love of music to inspire our students and to help them discover and develop their own musical talent. She greets her students with warmth and compassion and a genuine desire to see them grow. We are grateful for her kindness and unwavering support to our students!"
Harris said, "Karissa is a fifth grader who demonstrates every quality of a true leader. She continues to impress us with her initiative, her kindness and her commitment. She is a natural leader who goes above and beyond to help others every day whether she is helping her classmates or helping her teachers before school. Karissa has a servant's heart and leads with grace and love and has an unwavering desire to make our school a better place. We are so proud of her and the example she sets for all of us!"
